Three Principles Psychology

Hello, I am grateful for your assistance! But I'm not sure what this means please? "This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Bearcat (talk | contribs) at 18:57, 25 August 2024 (uncategorized). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision."

Thank you. 45.118.65.1 (talk) 21:37, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

I tagged the page with the {{Uncategorized}} template because it isn't filed in any categories. I'm really not sure what's difficult to understand about that. Bearcat (talk) 22:21, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

Restoring draft for Jim Harrity

A few days ago I wrote to Liz on her talk page about restoring the Jim Harrity page as a draft; it was deleted in December 2022 following a Jim Harrity AfD discussion where she was the closer. However, she seems swamped with questions right now and you were actually the one who deleted the article so I thought I'd ask you. All of the current Philadelphia City Council members now have articles (Jeffery Young Jr. still needs to be reviewed) and it would be good to have one for Harrity. At the time you noted the subject had just been elected to office, i.e. WP:TOOSOON. It's now 21 months later and there is more coverage. I could just start from scratch but I'd like to keep the history intact. Nnev66 (talk) 18:08, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

New article

Hi

There is a new article Murshid (TV series) created by someone. I have tried to clean it up and make it worthy of wiki. I will add reviews as soon as they are available. The show features the very reputable Kay Kay Menon in lead and releases tomorrow. Request you to have a look and suggest changes to make it better. If possible do review and approve it. Thank you Filmy World (talk) 17:37, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

Perhaps?

Is it perhaps time to unprotect Canadian Union of Public Employees?

Thanks. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:45B5:3629:911E:2628 (talk) 02:37, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Candidates of the 45th Canadian federal election

You have blocked discussion of an article someone (not me) submitted. I tripped over this because I was looking for the article, which I have always found useful before previous elections.
You have created a rule, new to me, that there can be no such article until 6 months before the election date.
You asked for authoritative sources on such candidates. Here's one on the Liberals:
https://www.hilltimes.com/story/2024/03/11/only-89-of-156-liberal-mps-have-been-nominated-for-next-election-more-than-a-year-after-deadline/414177/
(I have a subscription and can read it.) List of the 89 MPs. Details of 14 MPs—10 Liberals, two NDP, one Conservative, and one Conservative-turned-Independent who have publicly announced they won’t seek re-election.
Please re-consider this 6-month rule.
Wilfred Day (talk) 07:46, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
It's not a rule I made up. When has the candidate list ever previously been in place a year and a half or more before the scheduled election date? When has that ever been a thing anybody needed fifteen to twenty full months in advance?
I said all along, if an early snap election gets called, then the article can be rushed into place quickly since it will obviously have become necessary. But when you get right down to it, the candidate list is fundamentally a long, long list of people who are mostly not notable at all right now, where a small minority of them might become notable in the future but the majority of them never will — so until an election becomes imminent enough that the list of names actually gains collective significance in its own right as a group, the page is just a list of names.
The other thing I would note is that the page had already been declined several times by other AFC reviewers on the exact same grounds, but then the page creator would just ignore their input and immediately resumbit it to the approval queue again without listening to their feedback about it. But that's disruptive, and the AFC queue is already backlogged enough as it is without having to deal with pages that keep coming back over and over again just because the creator doesn't agree with the feedback they're being given. it's not a rule I made up, because several other reviewers said the exact same things about it — which is why I acted to stop the page from continually getting resubmitted to the review queue by an editor who wasn't listening to them.
Again, if a snap election gets called this fall, then we can and will move the article into place when we've gotten to that bridge in order to need to cross it — but until a snap election does get called, the election remains officially scheduled for October 2025, and there's simply no urgent need for a candidate table to already be in place 15 months in advance of that. Bearcat (talk) 13:53, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
The next Nova Scotia election will be held on or before 15 July 2025. This is not a minority government at risk of an early election, unlike the federal government.
Yet the list of candidates is already posted:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Nova_Scotia_general_election
As usual, it includes one candidate expected to be nominated soon. This is useful information.
Please reconsider your 6-month federal limit. Wilfred Day (talk) 22:43, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
Firstly, once again, it is not "my" limit. I don't own it, I didn't invent it, and I didn't "make up" a single thing that several other AFC reviewers hadn't already said before I came along. So I will brook no further attempts, from you or anybody else, to make this a me thing, because it is not "my" limit.
Secondly, please read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. For one thing, a premature election results table that exists as a section nestled within the election article is not the same thing, and not subject to the same issues, as a premature election results table that would be its own standalone page. And for another, that article really shouldn't already be doing that either. So it's not a reason why an early federal election results table would need to exist this far in advance of the currently expected election date, it's a reason why the premature election results table should be removed from the Nova Scotia article.
It simply is not, and never has been, standard Wikipedia practice that a candidates table needed to exist a full year to 18 months in advance of the election. A candidate list will be rushed into place if a snap election is called this fall, but until a snap election is called the official date of the election remains October 2025 in the meantime, and there has never been any standard practice that candidate lists needed to exist more than a year in advance. And again, this is not "my" rule, it's standard consensus that was already backed up by several other AFC reviewers before I came along. So I am not taking ownership of your complaints about it, because it is not "my" rule to reconsiderespecially because what I said doesn't make the page's creation impossible in the first place.
Absolutely any established AFC reviewer who believed that I and the other prior reviewers were wrong would be perfectly free to "overrule" us and approve the page themselves regardless of anything I said. The reason it isn't getting moved isn't that I've done anything that makes it impossible for that to happen, it's that other established and reputable AFC reviewers aren't in disagreement with me about an article being premature. Bearcat (talk) 21:58, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
I'll try once more and give up:
Here is a current relevant Hill Times article, dealing with the new electoral districts for the next election:
https://www.hilltimes.com/story/2024/08/26/adjusting-to-the-new-order-liberals-lead-in-riding-association-set-up/432367/
"The Liberal Party already has all 343 electoral district associations (EDA) officially registered with Elections Canada under the new representation order—as it’s had for weeks, dating back to at least July. As of Aug. 23, the Conservative Party had 273 EDAs registered, while the NDP had 237, and the Green Party 135." Lots of candidates in place, more every week. If lists are not needed more than a year in advance, perhaps I will find one posted in November. Wilfred Day (talk) 06:41, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
