Speedy deletion declined: Royal Sovereign shoal

[edit]

Hello Blythwood. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Royal Sovereign shoal, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Google first, nominate for speedy deletion after that. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 03:09, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Shirt58: - if you wanted to improve and keep it, that's fine, but the real issue for me was that this wasn't actually an article on the topic it was titled! It sounded like the write-up of some kind of school project about surveying and using trigonometry. Blythwood (talk) 20:25, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi Blythwood! I think we were both right about this. Yes, it was a blob of unformatted... something... and "like the write-up of some kind of school project" when it was started. And speedy deletion tagging was the right thing to do. In my opinion, my job as an admin looking at speedy deletion candidates is to investigate blobs like that and see if there is a plausible article lurking somewhere within them. And in this case, there appeared to be one. No problems from my end if you want to send the article to WP:AFD, or redirect it to the lighthouse, or the place the shoal is located off, or whatever. Discussion on the as yet uncreated talk page would be good, first.

ps: I regret my somewhat silly username choice. Please feel free to call me "Peter" or "Pete"... or if you want to really want to get this self-identified Eng Lit nerd's attention: Call me Ishmael.

I have unreviewed a page you curated

[edit]

Thanks for reviewing Y bus formation in MATLAB, Blythwood.

Unfortunately MrX has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

I'm putting this back into the review queue. It probably needs to be deleted, but is not WP:A7 eligible.

To reply, leave a comment on MrX's talk page.

Hi Blythwood,

Thanks for helping add a link to my entry at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_K._Hale. But more problems have popped up. Following the different feedback, I tried to improve it, but didn't get further response. Could you please take a look at the page and tell me if my correction is right or wrong and kindly offer me some suggestions? And then I can make improvement.

Your time and attention are greatly appreciated!

Sources

[edit]

Hello, there, I finally figured out how to compose a message! Anyways, you had a problem with my article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Japanese_The_Japanese_Don't_Know not having sources, I'm not done with the article, let me just say that, and it's still a stub, but my main source is it's Japanese Wikipedia page and the amazon book page

Herbert Bellerby

[edit]

Hi, you said that my page needed more citations, so I have where I got all of my information from. I'm new to Wikipedia, so I don't know how to write citations quite yet. I have it write here: http://bancroftians.net/cgi-bin/obacms3.pl?id=5868&im=Y If you wouldn't mind, could you copy and paste it into the Herbert Bellerby article as a proper citation, that would be great. I appreciate your interest in my article. Thanks! YourTypicalBoss (talk) 00:22, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sam Denham

[edit]

This is him on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/denham.orbital (although he doesn't have the blue tick). Still, it's only used for famous/notable people. Plankton55 (talk) 18:15, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

About Aaron Schwarz

[edit]

Hi Blythwood, I'm neither a friend nor a family member of this person. I am not being paid by this person either.

I am indeed both of those usernames, but I'm not a sockpuppet. I forgot the password to one of them, so I create a new one. Please advise. Thanks for your revisions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zxcv54321 (talkcontribs) 16:13, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the edits! I had a bit of a challenge getting the refs to work right, not sure why they wouldnt work normally. Cheers, James. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesbushell.au (talkcontribs) 10:31, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sink condition

[edit]

Hello,

I'm a pharmacist myself.

"Pharmaceuticals" is a general term for drug forms made by the "pharmaceutical industry".

While "pharmaceutics" is the science and process of preparing pharmaceuticals (tablets, ampules, etc) from chemicals.

Thus, sink condition (pharmaceutics) is a more correct name for the article. Since the entry is related to the manufacturing process (pharmaceutics science), not the products (pharmaceuticals).

Proposed deletion of Maciej Cegłowski

[edit]

The article Maciej Cegłowski has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thank You

[edit]

Thanks for the warm welcome Blythwood (love your name). And thanks for categorizing the page. I was doing it for a friend who's almost an IT-phobic. I tried to teach him, but no cigar. Hope I can add more useful pages in the future. Cheers.
Masteroogway (talk) 14:01, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Masteroogway: - Glad I could help and thanks for the reply! It's actually a really solid first article, and I'm glad to see more articles on scientists. The one snag is that if Professor Crews is a friend in some way, you need to disclose this when making edits in future - that link tells you about this. Anyway, best wishes and let me know if there's something you want to discuss. Blythwood (talk) 19:39, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Value your feedback!

[edit]

Many thanks for your welcome and for looking over my wiki bio - it was my first so needed some work. I went back and sourced the information. And even added some more well sourced information. I look forward to more guidance.
