Eh, post comments here for me, please.

The Restaurant series was a wash-out, while Rocketboom blasted off. So the relevance was to point up the irony of the all-about-eve bit player becoming a star. Pepso 13:58, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania in Atlanta!

[edit]

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 08:52, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EDC logo RGB.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EDC logo RGB.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Godfather

[edit]

I've addressed your comments regarding Michael Corleone on Talk:Michael_Corleone. --Kajerm (talk) 23:45, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Edgar, Dunn & Company, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. You accidentally relisted the discussion from 2006 when you put this page up for AfD. I fixed it for you. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:37, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:EDC logo RGB.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EDC logo RGB.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Soda Fountain Rag

[edit]

Hi I don't want to put copyrighted material here so go to my idisk public folder at

http://idisk.mac.com/ofindsen-Public

for Soda Fountain Rag in a couple of formats. Brooks Kerr is the performer. He knew Ellington and heard him play the short version of Soda Fountain Rag at the Whitney Museum concert. Ellington included a bit of Soda Fountain Rag in his 1929 recording of Oklahoma Stomp, and he is reported to have played it at his 1972 Carnegie Hall concert, a part of the Newport Jazz Festival, but I've never seen a recording of that concert. Kerr worked closely with Sonny Greer and Stanley Dance to create his recording. You will also hear a variation of Soda Fountain Rag as the first strain of "The Second Portrait of the Lion," recorded at the Pittsburgh Jazz Festival in 1965 and available on the RCA/Bluebird CD "Duke Ellington: Solos, Duets and Trios."

The Brooks Kerr LP includes numerous other piano renditions of early Ellington, some played well, others not so well.

On my iDisk you will also find a copy of "I've Got To Be A Rug Cutter," with Ellington SINGING!!!
