October 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm GiantSnowman. I noticed that you made a change to an article, David Cyrus, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Inglewood United FC article[edit]

Hi there, BrettKlucznik.

Thanks for all of your edits on the Inglewood United FC article over the past 3 years. The inclusion of whole squads for the underage teams (U20 and U18) is not inherently notable, under WP:GNG, and under WP:NOTSTATS. Generally, only the Senior Squad is listed. You can see that this is common throughout most equivalent or higher leagues, and there is a general style guide under: Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Clubs. Your request of "as Inglewood United's media officer I request that this edit be retained" also demonstrates that your role involves communication about the Club, and some of this is clearly evident in the history section. One can easily find information about the underage squads in a couple of clicks at your website @ [1]. Matilda Maniac (talk) 02:22, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matilda Maniac It's disappointing that we - Inglewood United FC - are not able to recognise ALL our players on the wikipedia entry. I've read the style guide and would like to know if there was any way of granting us an exception to include our U20 and U18 players, some of who will progress to the senior squad this year. I hope you would agree that the information I have contributed over the past three years has been updated frequently and is of a high standard. BrettKlucznik 12:01, 23 February 2017 (AWST)
The quality of your posts is not questioned at all, just their relevance/degree of notability to the encyclopedia. My personal opinion is that is also rather over-the-top for your entire coaching staff getting a mention (including for the juniors), again for reasons of notability, compared to the rest of the NPL-WA club articles, or equivalent NPL leagues in other states. And also listing every year's results as well (most articles will have Honours for those special years where the club has won its division, or been promoted, or won a cup etc. However that list could also be tabulated and become more succinct. There's some more discussion here at WikiProject Football, which will probably generate a couple more posts in the coming days. Matilda Maniac (talk) 16:29, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
