References in Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Noah Ryan Scott
[edit]I noticed you changed the code for the references. I think maybe I wasn't too clear about how to create them.
These references are footnotes.[1] These take the form of little numbers[2] next to the statements on the page. The content of the references appear at the end in a references list. This content is the source citation. You can examine the code for this section to see how this works. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 18:58, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- ^ See footnote help for more information.
- ^ Sometimes lowercase letters (a, b, c, ...) are used, but numbers are most common.

I've written a "tutorial" of sorts to try to explain this. It's true, adding references can be complicated. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 20:55, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
