Prix Jules Janssen and other new articles[edit]

Hi there. Thanks for the new articles you created recently. I'm writing to ask if you have any more information that would help expand that article or the other ones you created.

I've expanded Prix Jules Janssen to include the earlier awards (from 1897 to 1979), using a list published in L'Astronomie, Vol. 93, p.543, in 1979. And the awards from 1990 onwards are on the SAF (French Astronomical Society) website, but I can't access a later article that gives details of the awards from 1985 to 1994 (details are here), and this also still leaves the awards from 1980 to 1984 to find sources for. Would you be able to help here?

The other articles you created were Raymond Wilson (optician) (I moved this to what I hope is a better title) and Tycho Brahe Prize. The latter may be better merged to European Astronomical Society (where the information is already present). The article on Dr Wilson uses wording from the press release on his award, and should really be rewritten and expanded to give more context (I'm going to try and do that in a few minutes). Standard information expected for biographical articles includes nationality and birth year - would you know where that information could be found? It would also be nice if a freely-licensed picture of him could be obtained. Do you know where such a picture could be obtained? Carcharoth (talk) 04:42, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have no more details on Prix Jules Janssen. I tried to track further bio details for Wilson (your update improved my initial post), but failed on that too. Cazorla (talk) 17:15, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Childhope UK requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Reaper Eternal (talk) 12:23, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
