Welcome

[edit]

Hello ChMiLu1996 and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! – Rhain 06:11, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of references

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Canterbury Tail. I noticed that you recently removed content from The Godfather Part III without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Canterbury Tail talk 19:51, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally please stop piping links in order to put markup inside the links such as changing ''[[link]]'' to [[link|''link'']]. Canterbury Tail talk 19:52, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Canterbury Tail talk 19:57, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing

[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Billie Eilish, you may be blocked from editing. —C.Fred (talk) 01:50, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

She is not in a confirmed relationship with him. It is false information. ChMiLu1996 (talk) 01:52, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Then you need to make a case at the talk page. Adding an unsourced statement that they are rumoured to be in a relationship is unacceptable. —C.Fred (talk) 01:54, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What makes you believe she is in a confirmed relationship? ChMiLu1996 (talk) 01:56, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There was a sourced statement saying she was in one. Now, you could certainly refute the source on the talk page. —C.Fred (talk) 01:58, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What sourced statement? Are you certain it is Matthew? ChMiLu1996 (talk) 02:04, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to be honest here. Every single mainspace edit you've made since opening an account has been disruptive and has been reverted. Every single one. At this point if you wish to remain editing on Wikipedia you really need to think about your edits, think about what other people are telling you, and read through our policies and manual of style and stop making edits that are causing work for other editors. As it currently sits you have not contributed anything constructive to the project and are causing others to waste time tidying up after you. Right now another admin could easily come along and just block you from editing any further. So I suggest you learn why your edits are reverted, stop edit warring and read everything that people are asking you to read. Canterbury Tail talk 13:44, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to be honest here, I don't give a damn what you or anyone else thinks. I know that that it is false information. Go ahead and block me. I could really care less. ChMiLu1996 (talk) 18:09, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Rumours are false information. Why did you add one? —C.Fred (talk) 18:54, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Because that is what it is. There is no confirmation that they are dating. ChMiLu1996 (talk) 19:12, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Then you should have contested the source that stated they are dating (which there may be a case for) and removed it entirely, rather than stating a rumour. —C.Fred (talk) 19:15, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My sincerest apologies. How do you contest, may I ask? ChMiLu1996 (talk) 22:24, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
At the least, you could say that you're removing the material because Page Six is not a reliable source. (I presume that's why you removed it and not People?) If it gets restored, you put a message on the talk page about why Page Six isn't reliable or what sources are contradicting it. —C.Fred (talk) 01:46, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. ChMiLu1996 (talk) 02:05, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited David Bowie, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tweeter Center. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:01, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Jess Harnell. Thank you. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:13, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Sarah Utterback. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Information icon Hello, I'm C1K98V. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Vaishali Takkar, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
