Although there is indeed a period after "Rep" in the Sohop Rep logo, they do not use it in ordinary writing. See, for instance, their Mission Statement [1], in which not a single instance of "Soho Rep" in the text uses the period, only the logo. Please do not restore the period to the article again. Thanks. Editing with a conflict of interest, and promotional editiing

[edit]

It's clear from your last edit summary that you are editing the Soho Repertory Theater article on behalf of the theatre. This being the case you need to read the Wikipedia policies on editing with a conflict of interest and Wikipedia is not a promotional medium. You should note in particular that the subject of a Wikipedia article does not own the article and cannot control the content of the page. We are always interested in the information in our articles being accurate, but we do not allow subjects to use the articles to promote themselves. Editors with a COI are not disallowed from editing articles, but further attempts in inappropriately control the content will almost certainly lead to your being required to edited only via suggestions on the talk page, and, if that fails, you could well be blocked from editing at all. Please read and heed the policies I pointed you to. Beyond My Ken (talk) 17:29, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I repeat, you cannot have and will not be allowed to have free reign to shape our article on your organization to your liking. Since you have stated your intention to edit war to preserve your changes, I have to insist that you do not edit this article any further. Please make suggestions to the article's talk page, and other editors will put them into the article if they agree. I am bringing your behavior to the attention of an administrator. Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:18, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
