Notifications (or lack thereof) and copyright issues

You are obviously new to Wikipedia so don't yet know how this place works.

It is not our general practice to give a heads up to any editor prior to the reversion of material that is in violation of our guidelines. While there might be some rare situations where some editors would check with another editor in advance, this is typically not required and doesn't seem at all warranted in this particular case.

It isn't even normal practice to specifically notify an editor after such a reversion. I do see that someone did give you one of our canned warnings. It is the expectation that a editor with interest in an article will include it in their watchlist which will allow the editor to see that an article is updated. See Help:Watchlist

The original reversions were done because the material was viewed as promotional. While that seems appropriate, I reverted because the material appears to be a copy of material from the company website which is almost certainly subject to copyright. (Curiously, I did not see the usual copyright notice, but all material is subject to full copyright unless explicitly licensed and I did not see evidence of an acceptable license).
