Speedy deletion nomination of Kevin Howard Inc[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kevin Howard Inc, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. I'm afraid the short answer is: you don't. That's not what an encyclopedia is for.

Longer answer: start by reading the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. You will see that you are strongly discouraged from writing about your own business; and if you do, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use ("Paid contributions without disclosure" under section 4), and in some jurisdictions by laws against covert advertising, to disclose your interest.

The next thing to explain is that Wikipedia is not a business listing directory and does not expect or want to have articles about every company that exists. Wikipedia is selective about subjects for articles. The criterion used is called Wikipedia:Notability, and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about?

That has the advantage of being a more objective test than "Do we think it's important?" and also of ensuring that there are independent sources for the article. It is quite a tough test, and many worthy organizations, especially new ones, cannot pass it. That is not at all to their discredit, but it means they are not suitable subjects for a global encyclopedia.

Since yours is a new brand that is launching, it is most unlikely that it will have achieved the necessary amount of independent comment to establish notability, and to enable an article to be written based on independent views of the company, which is not just the story the company wants to tell the world.

I'm sorry to be discouraging, but Wikipedia is not for what you want to do. Even when your business is established, you would do better to wait until someone uninvolved finds it interesting enough to write about, but if you want to submit a draft for someone else to review, you can do that by via WP:Articles for creation, taking care to declare your COI.
