Hi, I have moved your article back to draft space as it is already well covered here, please feel free to edit there instead. Praxidicae (talk) 18:23, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've reviewed the article, cleaned up a few things, and put it back in mainspace. It is now available at Social-emotional development in childhood. Thank you for writing it! Feel free to continue working on the article, and integrate it into the rest of the encyclopedia, particularly at Child development#Social-emotional. Bradv 19:03, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Praxidicae, thank you for the feedback. The coverage of social emotional development on the Child Development page you linked to is quite limited, both in terms of the topics/ages covered as well as in the citations provided. Since the social emotional domain is such a large one in its own right (I feel like I hardly even scratched the surface with my page!), I thought it would be appropriate for its own page, similar to how Language Development and Cognitive Development each have their own pages. What are your thoughts? Cmoody404 (talk) 21:50, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bradve, thank you for the help with formatting etc! There is definitely more to social emotional development that I could add! When you say integrating it into the rest of encyclopedia, do you mean adding the content to the Child Development - Social-Emotional section? I was thinking it could make sense to have more basic information there, then link to the more in-depth page. Cmoody404 (talk) 21:50, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
By integrating it into the encyclopedia, I mean adding links from other articles to this one. So for example, Child development#Social-emotional could be edited to be a bit of a summary, with a {{main}} link pointing to this article. Feel free to start work on that yourself, but you may need to explain and get consensus from other editors at Talk:Child development. Bradv 21:56, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Social emotional development

[edit]

On 19 January 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Social emotional development, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that as part of social emotional development, there is a sevenfold increase in most children's emotional vocabulary between ages 4 and 11? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Social emotional development), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
