How to change an article title

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you made a title error when you created an article, but instead of fixing it, you created a new article to get the title correct. Please don't do that. When you need to change an article title, the correct procedure is to move the article to the correct title. Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 19:10, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New articles

[edit]

Hey there. Be sure that when you make new storm articles, they aren't just a copy of what's in the season article. An individual storm article is expected to have more information than the season article. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:58, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there again. I saw your edits recently. I can tell you have a lot of passion about tropical cyclones. We always need more of that! However, we don't need duplicate articles to what we already have. You made an article for Typhoon Matmo/Cyclone Bulbul, which was a copy of the Cyclone Bulbul article. Yes, Matmo was the precursor to the storm, but you didn't add anything that wasn't already in Bulbul's article, or in Matmo's section in the 2019 PTS article. The season articles are we identify every storm in every basin. Only if there is enough independent information should a storm be split off into its own article. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:46, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I should ask, btw - do you need any assistance in editing? Or any article ideas? It seems like you want to make an article for a storm that doesn't exist yet. Do you need any suggestions for ideas? If you're interested, the project is looking at developing lists for every area in the world affected by tropical cyclones. For instance, List of Florida hurricanes, or List of Bangladesh tropical cyclones. If there's an area that interests you, and it has been affected by tropical cyclones, perhaps you might be interested in organizing a list of those storms in that area. From your edits, it appears you're interested in the North Indian Ocean. We could use articles for List of Odisha tropical cyclones, List of Gujarat tropical cyclones, etc. Not every Indian state will get a list article, just the ones that border the ocean. And for India's west coast, I personally believe that there should be a single list for storms affecting Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, and Goa. Just an idea. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:53, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, can you confirm you are getting these messages? Please respond so you don't get blocked from editing. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:48, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
