Stem Cell Surgery
[edit]Yes, please merge with "Stem Cell" if you can. I think the merge would be appropriate, not only for the aritcles survival but for the relevancy the article has in relation to the stem cell. Thank you for the proposal, and hopefully this can be done ASAP. May the best be with you. Darkroom Danny 16:51, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
- I got it. -D. Wu 21:31, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for wikifying Zoo Tycoon. When I made my edit on it, I was absolutely appalled by its state. You deserve a lot of barnstars.
Happy editing!

Spike Jones William Tell Overture
[edit]Since when is it your place to decide whether content is "appropriate" or not? Unless you provide an actual explanation, I intend to put it back. >:( Wahkeenah 17:40, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- In general, an article that contains only music lyrics is considered unencyclopedic and is most likely a copyright violation. My removal of the lyrics from the William Tell Overture (Spike Jones version) article was motivated by the Wikipedia lyrics and poetry guideline.
- If you'll notice, I've shortened the transcript into a summary of the song and added pertinent information, which in my opinion is more reasonable and fitting. I apologize for not being clearer in my revision description. -D. Wu 18:04, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
There are plenty of pages with song lyrics on them. Why are you picking on this one? Wahkeenah 22:43, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- Pages with song lyrics on them include a discussion of its signifiance. The article in its original state included the complete lyrics in its entirety, which in my opinion does not serve any meaningful purpose and is most likely a copyright violation. I did not "pick on this one," and my edits were not meant to be hostile, as it seems that you have taken it to be.
- I would like to reach some middle ground here, so I've went ahead and summarized your original transcript. -D. Wu 23:24, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Image:Follicle_histology.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Follicle_histology.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Iamunknown 00:31, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads-up, I've went ahead and responded in the image talk page. D. Wu 19:05, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Newsbreak
[edit]Normally, cut and paste page moves are undone by administrators as they effectively delete the page histories. For future reference, please see Wikipedia:How to rename (move) a page. However the old article was so poor, and your new article doesn't include any text from the old article, so in this circumstance it appears acceptable. Thanks for fixing the article even it meant starting from scratch. -Will Beback · † · 06:24, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Chinese International School logo.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Chinese International School logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Zedla (talk) 04:58, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Follicle histology.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Follicle histology.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:10, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Image:Chromosomes during mitosis.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on Image:Chromosomes during mitosis.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Chromosomes during mitosis.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Cedarville University logo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Cedarville University logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:21, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

File source problem with File:US-DefenseInformationSystemsAgency-Seal.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:US-DefenseInformationSystemsAgency-Seal.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:18, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
