This article is a WP:COATRACK of disparate facts that would be better served if it were in the respective articles. It jumps from the medieval history of marketplaces to a sentence about shopping centers to a sentence about shopping malls. There are few sources about the marketplaces industry as a single entity, its mostly just a source that talks specifically only about malls or a source that only talks about shopping centers.
