Speedy deletion nomination of Barbie: A Fashion Fairy Tale[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Barbie: A Fashion Fairy Tale requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The Wizard of Oz (2011 musical)[edit]

Hi, what you are doing on this article is called edit-warring. You have significantly exceeded your 3 reverts for the day. (I make it 6). If you persist in doing this I will request that you be blocked. Thanks. Jack1956 (talk) 23:48, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

You are working against the consensus. Here we have to work by agreement. In disputed areas such as this all changes must be discussed on the article's Talk Page. Reverting as you are doing will simply get you blocked. Jack1956 (talk) 00:08, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Consensus is where the majority agree to the proposed changes. The consensus here is that she is an alternate principal and not an understudy so she needs to be given a little more prominence. Jack1956 (talk) 00:15, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

That's the whole point, as an alternate Sophie is a principal, whereas an understudy doesn't have to be a principal - indeed could even be a member of the chorus. Take your point of view to the Talk Page and see if you can persuade the majority. If you can't then you will just have to leave it. Jack1956 (talk) 00:22, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

No, they are not really bad - they just go against the majority view. Don't let this put you off working on Wiki- I'm sure you have much to contribute. These things sometimes happen. Jack1956 (talk) 00:27, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

I understand everything you say, but as Ssilvers points out above, all that is your point of view, and all articles should be factual and written from a neutral point of view WP:POV. At the same time, we cannot work against the consensus or majority view WP:CONSENSUS, even when we are convinced we are right and that everyone else is wrong. Your recent edits[edit]

Information.svg Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Insert-signature.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:The Wizard of Oz (2011 musical), is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.JeanColumbia (talk) 15:23, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes I know I probably did cheat there, but it was only because I don't think that's a discussion people want to remember. Sorry. DarkDancer06 (talk) 18:27, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

"Grammer"[edit]

I do appreciate your edit summaries, but please: it's "grammAr". -- Elphion (talk) 22:11, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Oh right sorry!!! I keep getting that mixed up and it partly be because I'm from the UK and I keep forgetting how we spell it over here! lol DarkDancer06 (talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Just think "grammatical" and the 'a' becomes obvious. -- Elphion (talk) 16:57, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Gotcha, thank you! DarkDancer06 (talk) 17:08, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello. I have noted your affinity for grammar as well, which is a good thing, especially on the Waterloo Road page. Currently, the page is quite convoluted at times. I have endeavoured to perform some work on it. (Galaxycat (talk) 07:07, 11 April 2012 (UTC))

Hi. Yeah I'm actually a writer, so I do tend to use good grammar when I'm writing and whatever I'm writing. I hope it's not causing a bit of trouble. (DarkDancer06 (talk) 14:15, 11 April 2012 (UTC))

Hi, why did you remove this information? It was sourced.

Burn injuries forced her retirement from the stage in 1895, and afterward she served as a teacher, heading the classe de perfectionnement.[1]

Okay, thanks. We can go with it. Thanks for the additions. Pkeets (talk) 01:05, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Maria Shirinkina as Gulnare in "Le Corsaire".jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Maria Shirinkina as Gulnare in "Le Corsaire".jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:58, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Natalie Gal[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Natalie Gal has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable person

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 22:56, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for alerting me to this, though I don't understand - what exactly is the problem? There are sources and references listed on the page... (DarkDancer06 (talk) 23:42, 25 October 2017 (UTC))

Nomination of Natalie Gal for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Natalie Gal is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Natalie Gal until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 13:02, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
