A tag has been placed on Operation Éxito, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -©2016 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 14:46, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Dfgasser. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Noel Quiñones, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. --Animalparty! (talk) 16:51, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Juan Augustin Márquez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.ithaca.edu/intercom/article.php?story=20150409014245671. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Speedy deletion nomination of Soraya Sesto

[edit]

Hello Dfgasser,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Soraya Sesto for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

COI

[edit]

Thank you for declaring your conflict of interest. That doesn't mean you can write anything you like, you must follow the guidance below. Also note that the required paid editor disclosure should be on your user page at User:Dfgasser, not in the article. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Dfgasser|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block.

Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that she meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the her or her organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the she claims or interviewing her. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • You gave only one reference that doesn't actually mention her at all as far as I can see.
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, not unsourced promo like an organization dedicated to making a positive impact... This experience made a deep impact on her and shaped her commitment to community service... Casa Grande Interactive is deeply invested in enhancing the education... innovative use of technology and motivational strategies... outstanding business leader for the positive changes she worked to create... She also distinguished herself...—just a fan page
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections, and not spam links to Casa Grande
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • The fact that she is probably notable (hard to tell since we can't verify what you have written) doesn't mean you can ignore our guidelines.
  • You said With all due respect, you do not live in Puerto Rico and you have no context for the importance of her presence in Wikipedia.— quite right, but I do know how articles should be written, and that we don't accept completely unsourced promos Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:51, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the she meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:51, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of comment on talk page

[edit]

Dfgasser I was looking through the history of Talk:Noel Quiñones and saw that you had deleted my comment with the note of "answer to Balon Greyjoy's concern about Emmy awards," so I would argue the note didn't accurately explain your edit. I had copied your comment from my personal talk page to the page's talk page to make it more accessbilble to those looking at the article. I'm not sure what your intentions were, and I am assuming good faith, but per WP:TPOC, it's not acceptable to remove or edit others' comments or posts on talk pages, provided that the removed content wasn't inappropriate. I restored my comment prior to making additional changes to the talk page. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 04:58, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Balon, thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt. I would not purposely delete any comment. Immediately upon receiving your original concern about the proper documentation of the two Emmy awards, I made an inquiry and wrote back to you. I didn't receive any answer. The online references to the years in question were lost. The executive director of the organization that made the awards can write a letter confirming the validity of the awards but I don't know how that can be adequately documented. I don't know what to do in order to satisfy standards but the awards were authentic. Your advice? Dfgasser (talk) 19:21, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
