AirTran - IND and SRQ/FLL

[edit]

Yes, I don't see why that's a problem. Since the routes are listed to the end of TRS' current timetable, I think it's okay if we assume the routes aren't seasonal - I have removed the [seasonal] from SRQ and FLL, but we should probably continue to watch the route in the months to come and see if it is dropped back down to seasonal. Thanks for noticing this. Sox23 20:56, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cape Air/handled by Frontier

[edit]

The same case was true with Big Sky Airlines @ Chicago-Midway earlier this year. Passengers were checked-in and all ground operations were handled by Frontier Airlines, but the flights themselves were operated by Big Sky. If it was "Cape Air operated by Frontier Airlines" then that can be included, but "Cape Air handled by Frontier Airlines" doesn't need to be. Sox23 20:24, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AirTran - IND/MIA

[edit]

Hey- I looked into the schedules and can't find IND-MIA anywhere. The same thing is happening with MDW-PBI- the route is listed on AirTran's route map but it isn't in the schedules, so I removed the flight from the MDW page. I would hold off on adding Miami to the IND page until we can find it in FL's schedules. Sox23 22:33, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ground Transportation Section @ IND

[edit]

Go ahead and add it. What can it hurt? If it gets reverted it gets reverted; no harm in trying. Sox23 00:49, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SAN Route Map

[edit]

I used [www.flightmemory.com FlightMemory.com] to create the SAN Route Map. You need to create an account- when I did it was free; I think it still is. But just add the routes in the Flight Data section, then when you're finished, click on Statistics and the route map will be below. Right click to save it to your computer; edit it with paint to delete "www.FlightMemory.com" at the bottom, and you're good to go. Ask me if you have any other questions. I assume you're creating a map for IND? Sox23 16:32, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Missing IND References

[edit]

Consider it done...22:56, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]

I'm not very familiar with image licenses...I hate when I get messages from bots that say my images are in copyright violation and stuff like that...but you should probably ask someone better acquainted w/ image licenses about that. The picture does seem very low-res and seems to fit the image copyright at the bottom...but I'm just not sure enough to give you an answer. Sox23 21:24, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is, however, another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please consider creating an account and uploading your media there instead. That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view images you have previously uploaded by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'image' namespace from the drop down box). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!--OsamaK 06:59, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TWA/IND

[edit]

Hey Dhammerindy, I've added a [citation needed] to the statement on the airport page. This allows readers to see the info, but at the same time realize that it may not be 100% correct without a citation. Hope that helps. Sox23 13:38, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AirTran Focus Cities

[edit]

As much as I don't like change, I think I have to agree with wikiman/quality control. To keep it accurate, technically only MDW, MKE, and BOS have been listed as "focus cities", even though like Dhammerindy said, they have over 8 n/s destinations from IND (and cities like MDW and BOS keep shrinking but are still listed as focus cities). The only way I'd include the previous focus cities is by contacting AirTran's customer service and asking them if they know what cities FL considers to be "focus cities." Sox23 15:20, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the airlines all have their own benchmarks as to exactly how much non-hub flying constitutes the naming of a focus city. For instance, Nashville has some non-hub flying on American, as have they in the past with US Airways and Northwest, Baltimore still has some non-hub flying with US Airways, Kansas City had some non-hub flying with US Airways, Tampa still(or did until fuel prices rose) has some non-hub flying with Delta, Hartford has some non-hub flying with Delta, and Austin has a high flight volume with Jetblue but non of those airports are any longer or ever have been focus cities for those airlines. I think it's all about that magic number or the future growth plans that an airline still has for a city that gives it that edge to get the focus city title. If you compare your NWA operation with Airtran you'll see that that NWA in your city is much more like BWI which Airtran actually calls a focus city than Airtrans operation there in Indianapolis which is why NWA is a focus city officially and Airtran is not. Please know I'm not trying to pick on your city at all but rather just trying to maintain accuracy between the article and the website for the company it represents based on what it says the knowledge that I have. If you were to email AirTran and they told you differently than I am more than happy to accept being wrong and learn something new. Let me know what they tell you if you do. QualityControl3533 (talk) 06:55, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What I think what you'll see happen is that like PHL, Midway will relocate to the historical list on the history page of AirTran.com and cease to show up in New Presentations and Publications once service drops below a certain point. Another good example is CMH for Delta. They just ultimately quit including them in the list on Delta's website. I also think that as operations like Tampa continue to grow which is the largest operation not labled a focus city that will begin to show up in presentations and publications. You can also email AirTran per Sox23's reccomendation which was a good one and get a new list(just post their reply on the article's talk page when you get it back and update the list accordingly) or if you can find something from a newspaper that talks about those expansion planes you mentioned that might be enough to put IND back on. QualityControl3533 (talk) 19:56, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re-list it with that as the citation and lets see how it looks after this Fall. QualityControl3533 (talk) 20:02, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Dhammerindy- Sorry I haven't been on wiki in awhile. I was busy moving in to college. Your changes look fine. I don't think people will object to them. If you need any help I'll be around. Sox23 17:30, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
