Ways to improve “Namibia exception”

Hi, I'm Anaxial. Docent2018, thanks for creating “Namibia exception”!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It is not clear what the article Namibia exception is about or what the first sentence is intended to mean.

Citing your own research

Hello, Docent2018. We welcome your contributions, but it appears as if your primary purpose on Wikipedia is to add citations to research published by yourself or your colleagues.

This is problematic as it gives the impression that you are trying to increase the number of readers (and indirectly the number of citations) to your research and thus have a conflict of interest - editing for your own benefit rather than for the benefit of the encyclopedia. The conflict of interest guideline on Wikipedia strongly discourages editors from contributing if they have a conflict of interest and Wikipedia cannot be used to promote your research. Scientific articles should mainly reference review articles to ensure that the information added is trusted by the scientific community. Adding pieces of primary research conducted by you or your colleagues can infringe on the Wikipedia policy of not adding original research to articles.

Please note that your previous editing is considered a form of spamming on Wikipedia (WP:REFSPAM) and will be reviewed and the citations removed where it was not appropriate to add them.

If you wish to contribute, please first consider citing review articles written by other researchers in your field and which are already highly cited in the literature. If you wish to cite your own research, please start a new thread on the article talk page and add {{requestedit}} to ask a volunteer to review whether or not the citation should be added.
