[edit]

hi did you take this pic?Genisock2 (talk) 12:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

yes. I did. I took the photo at a breakfest meeting in niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario, in 2007 I think.

I'm just learning this process. I personally took this photograph of Rob Nicholson and uploaded it to Wikipedia. If there are any issues regarding licensing, please advise. Thank you. DueManifest (talk) 18:42, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Jeremy Waldron.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jeremy Waldron.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:24, 26 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:24, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I took this picture myself and I thought that I made it clear in the licensing page, however, I am just learning this wikipedia editing thing and will see if I can fix it so that there are no other problems. DueManifest (talk) 18:23, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I added a notation on the picture file that I personally took this picture. I hope this is adequate but if there are any other things I must do, please advise. Thanks. DueManifest (talk) 18:38, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Jeremy_Waldron.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:15, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page Chicken chucken. Blank pages are malicious to Wikipedia as they often confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the deletion process for how to proceed. Picture of Rob Nicholson

[edit]

If there was no name attached to the picture, I would not have known who that was in the picture, because it is too dark and taken from a poor angle. I hope someone will bother to take an adequate picture. NorthernThunder (talk) 17:29, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If your intention was to make this a page in your own user space for development, the title to give it would have been "User:DueManifest/LSUC Bencher Election 2011". Calling it "Sandbox/xxxxx" just makes an article in the main encyclopedia called "Sandbox/xxxxx". Another user has moved it for you so that it is now in the encyclopedia at its proper title. See Help:Userspace draft if you should need to do this again.

I have some doubts whether this is really a proper subject for an encyclopedia article (a) being of transient rather than long-term historic interest and (b) giving a degree of detail - the list of every candidate - of interest to members of the LSUC rather than the general reader. Wikipedia should not be used as a notice-board; this seems to me material for the LSUC's own website perhaps with a link from their article, rather than for an encyclopedia. I have not decided whether to challenge it: if I do, I will let you know, and will use the WP:Articles for deletion process, which would involve a debate lasting seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute. File permission problem with File:Tugofwar.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tugofwar.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:19, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Justice Harvey Brownstone.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
