That name would be fine, but consider this query as well: Here are a few key questions:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Daniel Case (talk) 14:31, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. I do understand all those points, and the only additions/changes I wish to make to the page in question are of a factual nature. I updated the slogan/branding and details of current and past staff that were out of date and/or inaccurate. I also wish to change the logos that are out of date. Although some of these elements are of a promotional nature, I do not think updating them to be current and accurate in Wikipedia qualifies as promoting the business. (Unsure how to sign post since NBCMontana username is blocked, but that is still currently the username as it has not yet been changed.) NBCMontana (talk) 00:43, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
- The Founder of Wikipedia has stated that those with WP:COI should never directly edit an article where they have coi, but should only discuss propose edits that are sourced to third parties on the article talkpage in order to obtain WP:CONSENSUS for their edits. Based on that, how do you intend to proceed. (Note:your signature will remain as it is until you are unblocked and permitted to change the username) the panda ₯’ 10:49, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. I will look into getting a third-party source to update the logos to the current versions. Would still appreciate the opportunity to change the username. NBCMontana (talk) 18:57, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
Just following up on whether it will be possible to change the username to Ec1954. I will avoid any COI in the future. Thank you. NBCMontana (talk) 22:09, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

- Please do be careful to comply with WP:COI and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. When in doubt, it's always better to be conservative and remain well within community guidelines and processes to avoid misunderstandings and reblockings.
