NorthEast United FC

[edit]

Hi Edd18, just wanted to let you know that whilst I have no problem with your edits, you should note a couple of points:

  1. Once material has been challenged as unsourced it should not be added back without providing a source, particularly when it is of significant length per WP:BRD and WP:V.
  2. We generally do not use club colours in articles as they can inhibit accessibility for readers per WP:COLOR
  3. Per WP:TONE we need to write in a certain style. Sections such as João de Deus promised a great season for NorthEast United FC on his arrival. João took his team newly created team of mostly South Americans and mixture of old and new Indian lads to Turkey for the preseason matches where they played most of their matches against Iraqi Premier League teams, are too chatty. It is important to remember that this is an encyclopedia, not a fan page.

Let me know if you have any questions. Fenix down (talk) 14:56, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks for all those advices, instructions... As you can see I'm a Wikipedia noob... I just wanna inform you that I got the idea of using club colors from this page. & I'm sorry if I didn't make a proper reply... I don't really know how to use talk pages

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2017–18 NorthEast United FC season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Balwant Singh (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

NorthEast United

[edit]

Greetings from Kolkata.

Since you are new to Wikipedia, it seems you are unaware of some Wikipedia policies which were evident from some of your edits at the NorthEast United.

First of all while adding a reference to Eelco Schattorie, you added a WP:Bare URL instead of a reference template. Also the reference you added said that Schattorie was about to join as an assistant coach. There is a huge difference between "has joined the club" and "about to join". Referencing in Wikipedia are not done on basis on speculative sources. Moreover, you said in edit summary that you had "seen" Schattorie in the dug-out, clearly indicating that you were doing Original Research. Wikipedia does not accept original research; information added to the encyclopedia must be based on published Reliable Source and not on personal experiences.

Also original research was done while you added the manager's table. Addition of the table also violated Verifiability. You need to source each and every information in the table. The notes section is very redundant and full of trivial information. A reader can very well understand Ricki Herbert is the first coach of the franchise, Cesar Farias is the first Venezuelan manager from having a glance through the table.

Hope you will understand. Happy editing.

Thanks.RRD (talk) 16:08, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Yes I'm new to Wikipedia & trying to improve as quickly as possible. To be honest, since I'm new to Wikipedia I take suggestions from other Wikipedia page & use the contents thinking it won't violate any rules as those contents have been in those pages for days. If you are reading this, which I really hope you are, I'd like to ask you how these contents last in other pages but get removed here.

And I didn't add the manager's table, I only added the note section which was a bit stupid of me. The manager's table was there even before I started editing on Wikipedia.

Thanks for the feedback, happy editing to you too

An article you recently created, 2019 NorthEast United FC season, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 14:19, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
