Welcome!

Hello, Ellen.clementia, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Being a member of the welcoming committee on Wikipedia I encourage you to help Wikipedia in any way you can to increase human knowledge. No matter how small you may know about a topic, check it out on Wiki, if you find it, add to it or make changes backed with references. If there is no article on that topic, why not start it, with time others will add to it and it may even make the featured articles list. By doing this, I have been able to make over 1300 page edits in both new articles, article improvement etc. Furthermore, I encourage you to aim to be a member of the [confirmed users] as this will greatly improve your Wiki experience. You can do this by making at least 10 edits on Wikipedia and remaining on Wiki for four (4) days. Check out this page for tips.Crosstemplejay 12:57, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Joey Foster Ellis, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. NortyNort (Holla) 09:51, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to Joey Foster Ellis has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Just because it is public and distributed does not mean it is properly licensed for Wikipedia. See The copyright FAQ for more information. NortyNort (Holla) 09:59, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Moving articles

[edit]

Hi. If you want Joey Ellis at Joey Foster Ellis, please move the article along with the talk page, which contains permission for the text. Without that permission, the text is likely to be continually removed.

We don't create the same article at different titles, as this frequently results in more than one article being published on the same subject, as was until yesterday the case with this man. This article has been created at these two titles as well as at Joseph Foster Ellis. The procedure for moving article is described at Help:Move. Joey Foster Ellis has been deleted, so it will no longer be in your way for the move. If you need assistance moving it, please let me know at my talk page. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:32, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've just reverted your recent attempts at a move and your speedy tagging as you did it by a copy and paste move and this was not the correct method in this case. As permission has been given to use this text that permission has to stay with the article and that won't happy if you do a copy and paste move. I've now tagged Joseph Foster Ellis for deletion (as a non-admin I can't delete it myself). Once it has been deleted please move Joey Ellis following the procedure at WP:MOVE which will ensure the permission stays with the article. This will not involve having to copy and paste any text so if you find yourself putting inputting the text anywhere (by copy/paste or otherwise) then you're not doing it correctly so please stop and ask for help. If at any time you do not understand what you need to do then please feel free to ask a question here. Dpmuk (talk) 15:05, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Right, most of what I just posted is moot as I get interrupted by work halfway through writing it and other people have sorted it for you in the mean time. Dpmuk (talk) 15:06, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Joey Foster Ellis, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Joey Ellis. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:17, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Joey Foster Ellis, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you. Vrenator (talk) 14:29, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did at Joey Foster Ellis, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Vrenator (talk) 14:34, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Moving versus copying & pasting; COI

[edit]

Hi. I appreciate your note at my talk page, but I'm afraid that you didn't understand. You needed to move the page, not copy and paste the contents. I linked to you the procedure for doing so at Help:Move. When you copied and pasted the content to the wrong title again, you made it impossible for yourself or other non-administrators to move the article. This is why a contributor put the deletion notice on the article, so that an administrator could fix it on your behalf. I have done so.

If you're not sure why something is being done, please ask for further information. If you just keep doing the same thing after people have undone it, I'm afraid that you are likely to run into trouble on Wikipedia. :)

I see from your note here that the subject of this article is a friend of yours. You should be very careful in editing his article, as our conflict of interest guidelines explain. It can be difficult for people who know the subject of an article to write a neutral article about him. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:43, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
