BMTH

[edit]

This incident is being investigated. The band are NOT banned from Rock City, no matter what Punktastic or whoever say. Ring Rock City if you like.

  • We have a source for the ban, and no source refuting

You say "allegedly urinated upon and then assaulted a female fan after a gig at Nottingham Rock City." Further assault on the fan after urination incident had NOT been alleged.

  • The physical assault was alleged. The difference is he's not been charged - a subtle but distinct variation

Since this case is going through the courts at the moment, this incident needs to treated carefully. You have provdided false information about the band. I will remove the whole 'Incident in Nottingham' section and repost when the court case is over. Please do not repost the article until september.

  • Untrue. All my edits have sources - their veracity is open to debate, but I have not provided "false information". Yes we have to abide by WP:BLP and WP:VERIFY, but you can't just chop the section out completely unless you can demonstrate it violates them.

This is a request - please make sure you get your facts straight before posting them.

  • These are not "my" facts. They come from outside sources. Take it up with them.

Many thanks

Austen

Mike Reid

[edit]

My edits are absolutely good faith round this brilliant actor in this sad time, diffs might help but there has been a shit load of vandalism today and if I am making mistakes please let me know, SqueakBox 00:22, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. The trolls have got to me by confusing me aboutn what is what so your input is super-cool, SqueakBox 00:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rebelstar

[edit]

Hi Exxolon, with regards the Rebelstar page, I edited it to reflect all three games in the series. I think the only content I removed was some original research. Other bits I rewrote, and I've commented out the infobox temporarily (I intent to put that back in some form).

The gallery and cover art I removed, because we can only have so many images under the fair use license - really only one in-game screenshot is needed for illustration purposes.

Further contributions would be appreciated, bearing in mind our policies on WP:Verifiability and WP:Original research. Thanks, Marasmusine 06:43, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Evolution of stars

I've deleted Evolution of stars and recreated it as a redirect to Stellar evolution. Cheers, Angus McLellan (Talk) 21:42, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSD

[edit]

Hello, you placed a db-spam template on User:Misplaced. I've removed it as this is a users page, not an article. Just a note. SpigotMap 18:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only CSD that applies to a userpage is User-Requested, Non-Existant User, and Galleries, this one does not. I'm not going to bother removing it as he will likely be blocked for a while anyways, but the CSD won't go through as a db-spam. SpigotMap 19:10, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed it, due to it not being in correct citation format. It was an external link, and was not using with the correct <ref> </ref> tags. That is why... Happy editing! Unconscious (talk) 08:45, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I personally follow a 'zero tolerance' system to my edits. I figured that someone would add in the citation in the correct fasion, if I remove it. Clearly I was wrong. Unconscious (talk) 19:17, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine

[edit]

Great, you found refs and all, so of course it will not be speedie. Thanks for the note. See you around. Phgao 16:06, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reference desk

[edit]

I removed your reply [1]at the Humanities Reference Desk because it scolded the questioner for poor spelling and grammar. This response was not in accord with one of the Ref Desk guidelines for answering questions, Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. It is possible that the questioner was young, or not proficient in English, and telling him to use a spell checker might not lead to any vast improvement. One always has the option of simply not responding to a poorly phrased question, leaving the answering to others more tolerant of variant spelling, and just moving on to another question. Thanks for your contributions to the Ref Desk. Edison 14:03, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How did you become a Patroller

[edit]

I'm just curious how did you get to be a patroller. I wanted to be a patroller as well and I want to ask is it easy to be one, and how to join. I am melimited-luenmingfat and I am glad that you contribute to Wikipedia

Come on, I just started the page. It has to be translated from the swedish version yes but not deleted. http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonniers_konsthall --Dahlis 21:56, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bad language

[edit]

Please do not use offensive language when criticising another editor. You wrote: "If you're going to edit my contributions try using correct spelling and punctuation for christs sake". If you choose to blaspheme again, then christs should be Christ's. Tony 21:15, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Tony[reply]

Unblock me please!

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Hi Exxon, I've lifted the autoblock of 91.108.197.155. There is a lot of harassment of an admin from this range, so if you run into autoblocks I will unblock these one by one. I know you are a legitimate contributor so I'm really sorry about this trouble, but I assure you that I will answer to your autoblocks.

Request handled by: ~ Riana 03:06, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have contacted the blocking administrator. Please bear with us as we try to resolve this.--Chaser - T 02:47, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for reverting yourself on the Humanities ref desk, I think it was a good thing to do (and I wish more people would follow your example). Best wishes, DuncanHill 17:07, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rangeblock

[edit]

I've had to block a range of IPs due to heavy vandalism and abuse of multiple accounts. I think you may get caught by it so I've kept it as short as possible - just 3 hours. Sorry about the hastle. WjBscribe 00:36, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File unblock requests for your IPs and we'll unblock them one by one. Sorry, Exxolon, but this really is necessary. --Deskana (talk) 00:37, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. 80.202.107.43 18:20, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Civility and accusations

[edit]

Please do not make unfounded accusations of vandalism as you have done here. This is contrary to Wikipedia's standards on civility and could be construed as a personal attack. Thanks. Raymond Arritt 00:33, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which part of "NOTICE - I don't mind templates, but consider bot messages to be vandalism and will react accordingly." don't you understand? Exxolon 00:40, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bot notices are not vandalism. Vandalism is defined here. --Deskana (talk) 00:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) It is not your prerogative to unilaterally declare something to be vandalism. Wikipedia has developed standards about what vandalism is and what vandalism is not, as explained at WP:VAND. Raymond Arritt 00:43, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would have thought that on MY OWN USER PAGES I have the leeway to determine anything I want. I don't tell either of you how to run your user pages do I? Kindly do me the same courtesy. Exxolon 00:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You don't own your user pages or any page on Wikipedia's servers. The community owns your user page just like it owns the rest of the pages on the project. --Coredesat 00:50, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That policy would appear to apply only to articles as it's title - Wikipedia:Ownership of articles would imply. It's not as though I can hurt a bot's feelings by calling it's edits to my userpages vandalism, so what's the problem here? If I was going through the entire project reverting bot edits as vandalism then maybe there would be a point to this. As it is I've had to remove the same message multiple times from my talk page because you didn't like my edit summaries, which is insane. I will remove bot warnings from my talk page regardless as they clutter it up and make it hard to read. Exxolon 01:02, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine to remove them. Just don't call them vandalism. Raymond Arritt 01:05, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heads-up warning

[edit]

I had to rangeblock 91.108.192.0/18 for 3 hours due to massive abuse. Not sure if you're still on this or not, but just to let you know. Post here if you've any issues and I'll work to fix it. Sorry about all the hassle - Alison 00:35, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Song Identity

[edit]

No match. I checked allmusic.com and listened to every available song sample from Level 42, and none of those songs matched. The identity of this track remains a mystery. -- Denelson83 00:59, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Corrs image

[edit]

But I always thought that the pictures people/companies release would qualify as "free" because they are releasing it to the public. Correct me if I am wrong. If I am, I deeply apologise for my unintentional mistakes. σмgнgσмg 05:16, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clearing it up with me. Let's just hope I don't make the same mistakes again. =) σмgнgσмg 02:21, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Useful reading

[edit]

Thanks for the link to the page--I read through the criteria and it's all subjective. So what may not be "significant" to one person, is to another. I wish editors would be objective. If it's fact, then leave it alone. Let the users decide the significance. Thanks again. Wish someone could help. (This message left by User:Criswikiacnt on my userpage by mistake)

Silver Sun

[edit]

The term silver sun is was chosen here because it is what the band themselves have always used and is on their web site.[2] Neither is correct and wikipedia is ambigous. --Neon white 20:56, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UK Belgariad

[edit]

Oh, those are very nice looking covers. I wonder if we could somehow inlcude both versions? Perhaps a "strip" of all the covers of the individual books at the bottom or even top of the article...or maybe a "versions available" section could be added? Dreadstar 22:26, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Some third party references, news articles, etc. will be good. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 04:22, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
