Your Undo of my Contribution to 'MyEx.com'

[edit]

So you support our cause, but claim that this is not what Wikipedia is for? So what you are saying is that it's OK to 'advertise' an Internet Revenge Porn site like MyEx.com on Wikipedia by dedicating an article to MyEx.com, but it's NOT OK to inform victims of MyEx.com on how to remove their photographs/videos free of charge? You don't have a leg to stand on. Your undo of my contribution is nothing short of vandalism. If you want to start an edit war, you better be willing to finish it. Dorothy Comingore (talk) 14:28, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @Dorothy Comingore: The problem here is that, while there is sufficient reliable information available about MyEx.com for an article about it, there is no reliable information about "Citizens Against Revenge Porn" (CARP), including anything to verify that your claim of being able to remove the offending material within 1 business day is in any way valid. If CARP becomes a legitimate non-profit business, with filings at the IRS or the appropriate authority in any other country, and a presence as anything other than a Facebook page, then the legitimacy of this information may become verifiable, but for now, we have only your word that this is a legitimate organization. And threatening to engage in an edit war lacks civility. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:48, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

About revert on Cherry Evans

[edit]

oi my article was on Cherry Evans was referenced and accurate. Keep it and ill donate money to keep this hopeless online encycloapeadia alive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahmudullah1213 (talkcontribs) 10:45:53, 03 06 2015 (UTC)

Mahmudullah1213, one can hardly contend that your edits were constructive. I'm currently examining the rest of them. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:19, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Blocked - vandalism only account. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:25, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrol

[edit]

Hi. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but with your very little experience and not knowing the right checks to make at New Page Patrol, I think it would probably be better if you were not to patrol any more pages untill you have found out how to recognise serious attack pages and hoaxes, and what to do about foreign language pages. You'll find all this at WP:NPP and WP:DELETION and you are welcome to ask me for help if there is anything else you don't understand. I came across the disgusting attack at Tjerand ruben røgenes that you wrongly tagged. Fortunately I was able to delete it instantly. If you want to start a career helping to clean up the encyclopedia, I recommend you enroll at the WP:CVUA and find your feet by doing several hundred vandalism reverts. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:01, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I had a look at back at the article and see what you meant. I never had dealt with an attack page before and usually I just see A# category. But from what I understand what I did wrong was firstly not knowing of G10 and secondly, not blanking the page when adding the template, correct? Normally I just watch RC for vandal edits, occasionally look at a new page if it comes, which is probably why I never had used G10, or even knew about it. But I'll take a look at those pages though, thanks for the advice! — Félix Wolf (talk | contribs) 11:29, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Reading those pages is an absolute must. The thing to do with foreign language pages first of all is to copy and paste the first paragraph to Google Translate - you'll quickly get an idea what they are about, and then you can tag them appropriately. That said, after having followed up on your reverts of User:Mahmudullah1213 (above)and blocking him, I do believe your greatest contribution would be to continue fighting vandalism for a while - but again, when you see such filthy stuff, you must report it to WP:AIV where it will be dealt with quickly. Mahmudullah1213 was otherwise a good call :) --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:39, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Real Time Recent Changes

[edit]

That link on your userpage looks really helpful, but how to I enable it? Weegeerunner (talk) 02:51, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, I never took into consideration that the script has to be added, my bad. I'll need to fix that. But to answer your question, go to Preferences and under Advanced, check Real-Time Recent Changes and save your settings, the link should then work. — Félix Wolf (talk | contribs) 02:57, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Where in preferences? Weegeerunner (talk) 03:02, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have made a screenshot with the option highlighted for you, I hope this helps. Screenshot :3 — Félix Wolf (talk | contribs) 03:09, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
What tab is that under? Gadgets? Beta features? Weegeerunner (talk) 03:13, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind found it, It's under Gadgets. Weegeerunner (talk) 03:14, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

'Underage Drinking Disputes'

[edit]

Why did you undo my post on Underage Drinking? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.56.27.129 (talk) 2015-06-06T10:10:55‎

Because you were attacking ClueBot, which we all know and love. — Félix Wolf (talk | contribs) 10:14, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Do you know that the drinking age in the United States was recently lowered to 18? I made changes on Wikipedia to reflect this but ClueBot f**king wiped it out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.56.27.129 (talk) 2015-06-06T10:18:12
No, I did not know that, but thank you for the information! However, it is still not a reason to attack our beloved ClueBot. — Félix Wolf (talk | contribs) 10:20, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rollbacker

[edit]

I have granted the "rollbacker" permission to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, contact me and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. – Gilliam (talk) 12:38, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I hereby give my utmost promise that I will use this new privilege as as intended and will not let you down on your decision. Thank you for this privilege and your trust in me. — Félix Wolf (talk | contribs) 22:39, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bots

[edit]

You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.

What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.

This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.

Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script.
