Midwinter Day

I appreciate the expansion of the article, though I am confused at your removal of information. Everything in that article was sourced, so could you explain why you removed it please? Serendi^podous 07:23, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

@Serendipodous: Thank you for creating the article! Much of the information in the article was correctly sourced, so I removed only those parts with errors. Some sources themselves were outdated (e.g. there are now winter flights to sites like McMurdo Station so shipping materials and ingredients for Midwinter celebrations is now possible.) Some sections were misinterpretations of the source material (e.g. People in Antarctica during winter are exclusively at scientific stations, but they are not exclusively scientific personnel and they are not the only people to celebrate Midwinter Day.) In other sections, the referenced material did not mention the topic for which it was cited (e.g. There were no mentions of horror films in the Antarctic Sun article.) The reference to "The Thing" (and running naked) was in the BBC broadcast article. The referece to "The Shining" was in the antarctic sun article. You also removed sourced statements that people give and receive gifts on Midwinter and that consuming the local wildlife is no longer legal. Is that no longer true?
