Pearl Brewing Company

[edit]

Hi Feedloadr. I'm glad you enjoyed the Pearl article. I can't say I blame you on only making it a quarter of the way through. The article is great for people really into information on the brewery, San Antonio, or brewing history, but if someone is like you and just browsing through the article can get a little long winded. Hopefully the pictures helped to breakup the onslaught of text. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the article, and feel free to stop by at any time and add information or make corrections. Cheers. --Brownings 01:25, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Thanks for creating the Lake Livingston article. I've gone through and upgraded it, however, while working on the page, I noticed that quite a bit of it is blatant copyright violation of this page from the TRA. Please consider going through and putting the obviously copy/pasted text in your own words. Thanks! drumguy8800 C T 15:59, 5 February 2007 (UTC)`[reply]

Re: Quick Note

[edit]

Yeah, I am not too worried about whether it is farm to market or farm-to-market, lot more pressing things that need working on. Looking at radiojon's edit history, he has very few edits to user talk pages or article talk pages, so no since in trying to discuss it and I not really interested in a edit war over something trivial. I had a month long training that I was attending and didn't have time to get on the computer much. Thanks for the welcome back. --Holderca1 17:23, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The incorporation of towns in Texas

[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Montgomery_County%2C_Texas&curid=58107&diff=136385909&oldid=136353452

Do you have proof? A source? Rambot differed between town and city when creating Texas articles. Do you have documents stating that places may only be incorporated as cities? WhisperToMe 19:26, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.oag.state.tx.us/opinions/op47mattox/jm-0169.htm

According to this, it looks like that the definition of what can become a "village" or "town" or "city" may depend on the type of incorporation.

" The city of Dickinson currently has the legal status of a town or city operating under chapters 1 through 10 of Title 28 of the Revised Civil Statutes, and may not revert to village status under chapter 11 thereof. To regain village status, it must dissolve its present corporation and reincorporate as a village."

WhisperToMe 11:58, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, we should go with "Municipalities" - but within municipality articles state "city" WhisperToMe 16:17, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An important letter

[edit]

Dear roads editor,

You may have noticed some changes at WP:USRD lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.

This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.

After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Wikipedia for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.

The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.

In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.

For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.

In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.

All users are welcome to collaborate on IRC, the newsletter, or anywhere else at USRD.

In the future, please feel free to approach us about any issues you may have.

Regards,

  2. There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Liberty County, Texas, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages John Otto and Robert Nichols (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Wiki Loves Pride: Houston

[edit]

You are invited to participate in Wiki Loves Pride 2014, a campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related content on Wikipedia throughout the month of June. On June 21, there will be a multi-national edit-a-thon, if you wish to participate. Here is the project page for Houston: Wikipedia:Meetup/Houston/Wiki Loves Pride 2014. Ways to help? Create or improve LGBT-related articles, host an edit-a-thon at a local coffeeshop, library or other location, or photograph LGBT culture and history in the Houston area. Visit the project page for more information, and if you are interested in contributing, just add your name to the list of supporters or add the results of your work. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
