Vandalism on my Talk Page
Hello, I just wanted to thank you for reverting that vandalism content made by Beezbeez23, However what did Beezbeez23 do to be considered a vandalist on my talk page? I couldnt see what Beezbeez23 did wrong on the history of my talk page. I dont see why Beezbeez23 needed to be banned. BloxyColaSweet (talk) 11:13, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- @BloxyColaSweet You're welcome. The edit that they made have been oversighted (i.e. it can only be seen by a small group of trusted admins), hence the three strikethroughs you see at your talk page's history. They are a known vandal. Besides that, I can't give more details. —*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 11:18, 14 January 2023 (UTC)

Hey!
I got a message saying you removed my link from the anime and manga fandom page however I'm a little unsure why as there is an anime merchandise store linked there? We don't do anime merchandise however we provide anime and manga inspired canvas prints. I don't understand why the merchandise store is allowed and not my link? Can you please help me understand. Thanks 86.29.57.209 (talk) 05:11, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
- That link is inappropriate as well. I have removed it. I would've removed the forum link as well but I'll leave it for later evaluation. Please see the external link policy to understand what sort of external links are acceptable. Thank you. —*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 05:14, 15 January 2023 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kiran Uniyal (2nd nomination)
Hello, and thanks for renominating for a second AFD. Note also that on the first AFD, a "keep" came from User:Manpreet09876, account now globally locked. That account was more-or-less a WP:SPA for articles on a Dr. Bhaskar Sharma, with several draftified and/or deleted. Creator of Kiran Uniyal, TheHelix0, has now twice attempted articles on the same person, using the spelling Bhasker Sharma. Both accounts worked on the article that ended up at Draft:Bhaskar Sharma (doctor) 2, and a third account Fantomofarts worked with TheHelix0 on Draft:Kiran Uniyal (Martial arts). Looks a lot like sock/meatpuppetry. 2A01:4C8:A4:D8F:5E5:7B85:D0FD:F751 (talk) 09:49, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- I am indeed aware of the Manpreet09876 account, and a Simple English Wikipedia CheckUser investigation of the account confirmed the socking. That's why I opened the AFDs here, because these articles were created on the Simple English Wikipedia by the socks, and were deleted. I'm keeping an eye on the other accounts for now —*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 10:08, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – February 2023
News and updates for administrators from the past month (January 2023).

- Following an RfC, the administrator policy now requires that prior written consent be gained from the Arbitration Committee to mark a block as only appealable to the committee.
- Following a community discussion, consensus has been found to impose the extended-confirmed restriction over the topic areas of Armenia and Azerbaijan and Kurds and Kurdistan.
- The Vector 2022 skin has become the default for desktop users of the English Wikipedia.
- The arbitration case Armenia-Azerbaijan 3 has been opened and the proposed decision is expected 24 February 2023.
- In December, the contentious topics procedure was adopted which replaces the former discretionary sanctions system. The contentious topics procedure is now in effect following an initial implementation period. There is a detailed summary of the changes and administrator instructions for the new procedure. The arbitration clerk team are taking suggestions, concerns, and unresolved questions about this new system at their noticeboard.
- Voting in the 2023 Steward elections will begin on 05 February 2023, 21:00 (UTC) and end on 26 February 2023, 21:00 (UTC). The confirmation process of current stewards is being held in parallel. You can automatically check your eligibility to vote.
- Voting in the 2023 Community Wishlist Survey will begin on 10 February 2023 and end on 24 February 2023. You can submit, discuss and revise proposals until 6 February 2023.
- Tech tip: Syntax highlighting is available in both the 2011 and 2017 Wikitext editors. It can help make editing paragraphs with many references or complicated templates easier.
Regarding Links
Hey I recently added a link for fakebook event creation guide on the proper place with intent, may I know the reason for removing that link ?
Regards Mohit Vandra Mohitvandra (talk) 09:05, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Mohitvandra Hello, please read the English Wikipedia's policy on external links. It is almost never necessary to add an external link in the body of an article. If it is needed, it goes to its own section at the end. The external link you added falls under the 11th point. It is a blog. —*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 09:07, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Recent reversion of 212.219.116.62
Please confirm that you have reverted ALL edits made today (9 February) by 212.219.116.62 and possibly another, as I can still see in the opening section, reference to "Stanwick Rovers", "mob boss" and "drug smuggler". Thank you for your prompt involvement.
StanwickRes StanwickRes (talk) 14:41, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
- @StanwickRes The rollback tool undid all the edits done by that IP. It cannot undo the edits made by the previous IP, since rollback can only revert consecutive edits made by the same user (be it registered or anonymous). I didn't notice the other IP in the page history. Thanks. —*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 22:06, 9 February 2023 (UTC)

- Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
- As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.
- Bot operators and tool maintainers should schedule time in the coming months to test and update their tools for the effects of IP masking. IP masking will not be deployed to any content wiki until at least October 2023 and is unlikely to be deployed to the English Wikipedia until some time in 2024.
- The arbitration case World War II and the history of Jews in Poland has been closed. The topic area of Polish history during World War II (1933-1945) and the history of Jews in Poland is subject to a "reliable source consensus-required" contentious topic restriction.
- Following a community referendum, the arbitration policy has been modified to remove the ability for users to appeal remedies to Jimbo Wales.
