A summary of what you need to know about Wikipedia for the future

Hello Flavio Teixeira Prado,

I think Marcelo Monte deserves an article in Wikipedia but his article still does not comply with Wikipedia's rules. Please read WP:Golden rule, which has the most basic information for any article to meet Wikipedia standards. Notice that it says:

"Significant coverage in sources is required to show that a topic meets the general notability guideline (GNG)."

But Marcelo Monte's article does not have significant coverage in sources. Also, the Golden rule says:

"We need reliable sources. Usually this means that the publisher has a reputation for fact checking. These might be newspapers, books, or periodicals. Not: forums, fansites, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, or most blogs."

But Marcelo Monte's article does not have reliable sources. Your blog is not acceptable. Also, the Golden rule says:

"We want readers to be able to verify that Wikipedia articles are not just made up. To do this, cite the information in your article. Non-independent reliable sources can be used for verifiability."

That's why I added the "citation needed" tags to the article. The reader should be able to verify important claims, and that cannot be done in Marcelo Monte's article.

Do you have any books or magazines that could be used as sources? If the article is not improved significantly, someone else will almost surely nominate the article again for deletion. It's just a matter of time. Sources are indispensable, and this is even more important for articles that are biographies of living persons. Good luck. Your friend Mathias

I see that your friend Mathias changed the information in the 1984 24 Hours of Le Mans article, to erase a real driver and to include Marcelo Monte. This was also done on the Portuguese Wikipedia. This is an extremely serious and unethical violation of the rules. Marcelo Monte never raced in Le Mans. You lied to me. Você mentiu. Dontreader (talk) 00:33, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
