Grizzly7, parameters for inclusion as noteworthy Delts

[edit]

Hi Griz. I am on the Fraternity and Sorority Project, and police all these articles for content, typos, vandalism and bloat. We are rapidly improving several thousand articles, and appreciate your help in making the list of Delt notables more comprehensive.

Some years back, noting the trend for vandalism or the addition of non-noteworthy persons, we created a standard template "primer" for the Talk page of these various lists of persons, which set forth a framework for inclusion. Normally, to be included a person should already have an approved Wikipedia article published about them. But to corral users toward our mutual goal of highlighting those who were truly noteworthy we also suggest adding the following language, versioned to support YOUR fraternity, and linked from the various sections of the list itself back to this discussion. Perhaps this might help you. I note that there are several minor names and redlinks, all of which detract from your list's usefulness. Jax MN (talk) 21:06, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To avoid vanity listings be sure to add a list of rules for inclusion, as discussed here:

Jax, thank you for your note and your work on the Fraternity and Sorority project. I welcome any advice/feedback, as i am a new editor. I have tried to only add members with an existing wiki page, and i wonder if that is enough for notability or should i only select those with higher achievements. Additionally, i would love to help out with your project if it is possible.
Cheers,

We'd be delighted to have your support on the F&S Project. My collaboration with these other project supporters has helped me greatly in expanding my own editing skill. Project editors "sign their names" to the big group list found at the top of our page, as step one. You can read the other points that note our persistent interests. Further, you can read about our current efforts on the Talk page associated with that project, here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities. Our big projects right now include:
  • Writing stub or start pages for the few remaining schools that do not have them. Many were the sites of early sorority chapters; about 100 of these old, often for-profit 1-yr or 2-yr schools have closed.
  • Updating any chapter lists that are missing into our standard template, such as found at List of Delta Kappa Epsilon chapters. You will note that I just did a small round of updates to the similar list of Delt chapters, but this work can be continued.
  • Updating pages from stubs to full articles, adding our standard syntax and stylesheets. Many of the finer points of our syntax, or various small mysteries we are researching, are discussed on the Project Talk page. Jax MN (talk) 00:18, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
