However, it would be nice if you could give some kind of indication as to what license the media is under. That way other people can be confident in making use of it for many varied purposes :)

Adding license information also helps prevent media you've put effort into creating from being deleted :)

File copyright problem with File:Honda 550Four.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Honda 550Four.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

Sorry, you need to use the technical terms: "Free domain" doesn't necessarily mean everything we need, you need to say Public domain. Using the template {{PD-self}} should work. Sorry we're so officious, but we have to be. --GRuban (talk) 18:59, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
