Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Jargarimap.PNG has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Fastily (talk) 05:40, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Gurdwara_Alamgir_Sahib. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Copyright problems with Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://sikhiwiki.org/index.php/gurdwara_alamgir_sahib. As a copyright violation, Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Yourname (talk) 18:50, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sikhwiki[edit]

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. I've deleted the article Gurdwara Alamgir Sahib as unfortunately Wikipedia can only accept content which has been explicitly released under the GFDL license. This means that we must have permission from content owners for the text to be modified and used for any reason, commercial or otherwise, before we can add it to an article. Copyright law protects everybody's creations from unauthorised replication - e.g. being copied and displayed on someone else's web page. As one of the most-viewed websites in the world, Wikipedia must make every effort to protect itself and its contributors from potential legal consequences, and therefore such content is often quickly deleted. This isn't a reflection on the topic, and a subject will usually be accepted if it meets our notability guidelines. Copyright on Wikipedia is a complex area, and if you have any questions, leave me a message and I'd be happy to help or point you to someone who can. – Toon(talk) 19:16, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Alamgirsahib.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
