User talk:Headdymann
Hey there. I saw that you added a lot of text to Anastacia. Much of that text repeated content already in the article. For instance, her parents were already described, and the infobox at the start is meant to be the equivalent of "fast facts". Wikipedia discourages trivia sections and quote sections. Some of the quotes you provided would be useful to merge into the rest of the text, except that they would need to be sourced. Sorry but I probably ended up removing most of your additions. I would suggest adding smaller bits of text to begin with, as you get familiar with the Wikipedia style of writing. Gimmetrow 22:02, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Come on.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Come on.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:53, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Andy Doyle, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a user page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a regular Wikipedia article rather than a user page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Russ (talk) 16:41, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:Andy Doyle.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Andy Doyle.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:45, 17 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B (talk) 04:45, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Flagging Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat for further review
[edit]Hello, Headdymann … I recently encountered the article about Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat and in my opinion, it either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Music, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it violates a copyright.
I am considering tagging Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for deletion according to the Deletion policy … I do not have time to examine the article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.
I have created this initial entry on your Talk page because you are either the original author of the article, or else a recent contributor to it; I will leave more detailed information regarding my specific concerns about the article on its Discussion page … please respond either there or on this Talk page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.
Be sure to read Ownership of articles, and remember that other editors may not share your opinion about the notability of the article's subject.
I do not mean to imply that your contribution is unappreciated … perhaps you should read Your first article … and remember, there was a time when I knew less about how Wikipedia works than you know right now, and I am always available to help you become a more proactive contributor. —Triwbe (talk) 06:36, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Copyright problem: Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.offbeat.ru/history.php?lang=e, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), versions 1.3 or later then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Denis Mazhukov and the Off Beat saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! RedAndr (talk) 16:26, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Further copyright concerns
[edit]While investigating the above, I have discovered that the articles Arsen Shomakhov, Kelley Hunt and Feltbeats also contain material duplicated from other sources. Each of these has been blanked for seven days pending investigation. If you information to offer about the copyright status of these articles, please do. Wikipedia cannot use copyrighted material without verification of authorization from the source. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:36, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
