Sources[edit]

Hi. I see you have added a lot of information to Punjab (India). The information may be good information but you have to give a way for other users to check the information. If not it can be more easily removed since it doesn't have a scholarly source backing it up. Would you please add the source you used to get that information? Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Footnotes may both help you if you are having syntax problems. Thanks. gren グレン 02:26, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My main goal was to introduce you as a new user to citing sources. If you don't cite your work from neutral sources another editor can say "that doesn't seem right" and remove it... if you have cited the source where it comes from then it is more likely that it will stay in the article for the long term. Also, the information had to come from somewhere and it's not all common knowledge--citing sources avoids plagiarism. gren グレン 13:07, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rajput and Gujjar arent castes. They are ethnicities who Jats have much more in common with than Pashtuns. They are thought to have a shared ancestry, do your research. And by the way, Punjabi and Sindhi are two very broad terms. Punjabi can consist of many different ethnic groups.

Efforts to hijack Singh article[edit]

Editors of this "Singh" and the "Rajput" article are requested to work on the article Singh, as some people are making constant effort to hijack the article and keep it only for Sikhs saying that provide reference if Singh is a Rajput common name, they keep erasing reference that Sing is a Rajput name at all. They keep proving that Singh is a Sikh name only. I suspect these are foreign editors who have no idea what they are talking about obviously.

See this version of the article that erases all reference that Singh is a common name used by Rajputs: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Singh&oldid=153438525

Kindly provide a lot of references and facts that Singh is a Rajput name and also provide how many Rajputs may be using it as a middle or as the last name because I know Rajputs who migrated outside Rajasthan to other states many hundred years ago have lost touch and now use it now as their last name.

Kindly help to work on Singh article when you all get some time, Thanks

Su-35BM[edit]

Thanks for the support. I'm working on the article at the moment; I should have it posted in about half an hour. ZakuTalk 20:21, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sukhoi Su-35BM ZakuTalk 20:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Of course; it is named "Su-35BM". ZakuTalk 20:54, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think so; the Su-35BM was the only Su-35 at MAKS-2007. ZakuTalk 21:02, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Hi Historian info,

You seem to have a lot knowledge & expertise about Jat people. Please help me clean up and improve the article because you have done a wonderful job on it with your additions before. Regards --Sikh historian (talk) 07:41, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I will put that page on my watchlist, no problem. Yeah, it can be quite tense when reverting vandalism. Especally when you are in a vandal war such as this. But I make sure that the vandal gets blocked for it. Should I request that the Jat people article be semi protected? King Lopez Contribs 10:37, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Russian Aircraft variants[edit]

Just in case no one has answered your question about why Russia produces more variants of it's domestically produced aircraft when compared to the West (Su-35 article), the short answer is that the Russian manufacturers have a policy of tailoring their aircraft to their customers' needs. Compared to military purchases from Western sources, many purchasers of Russian equipment prefer to install components from Italian, French, British, Israeli and other Defense contractors for their particular needs including adaptability to existing weapons stores, compatibility and integration with existing aircraft in service, superior components from said contractors, cost, etc.

This also happens with Western military purchases too, but this is more commonly involves minor, less technical components, although I'm sure there are several examples to the contrary.
