[edit]

Hello, IWIthinktank, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Draft:The IWI: Institute for Feminist Policy Reform, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:The IWI: Institute for Feminist Policy Reform, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. creffett (talk) 22:59, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, IWIthinktank. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 01:00, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I would like to request that my block be lifted from my account. I understand that my article has been deleted and that I was blocked due to concern that my article was advertising and had a COI. I had in not finished working on my article and it was in no way ready for submission for approval. I had left it in draft mode as I was still working on it, somehow it must have become submitted for approval. I was actually collating my sources and was working on adding them into my draft article and was definitely going to disclose my COI. I understand that in the state that it was in it would appear that I did not adhere to Wikipedia's submission guidelines. But I hope to be able to complete my article before submission so that I can address the issues raised. Again I stress that I was not ready to submit my article for publication and am aware and acknowledge the issues raised by the administrator and assure you that I had no intention of publishing the article as it was presented. Decline reason:

Per below. Unfinished advertising is still advertising, and your draft was fundamentally incompatible with the purpose of Wikipedia. MER-C 19:20, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Drafts are still visible to other editors in the Recent Changes feed, and are not immune from deletion processes. Your draft was blatant promotion including things like "our mission"(which is wholly unencyclopedic as it is impossible to independently verify an organization's "mission") and describing what your organization does. Wikipedia is not for merely telling about an organization. Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage state about article subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability(in this case, that of a notable organization). Wikipedia is not interested in what an organization wants to say about itself. To be successful in writing about your own organization, you will essentially need to forget everything you know about it and only write based on what independent sources state. The vast majority of people cannot do that, I have yet to see it happen in my many years here. Are there any subjects that are unrelated to your conflict of interest that you want to write about?

The block does not mention this, but I think you will need to change your username; if you make another unblock request, please use {{Unblock-un|user=new username|reason=your reason here}} to do so(highlight and copy when viewing this page, then open the edit window and paste, filling in the information). 331dot (talk) 18:42, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
