A tag has been placed on Dayv Brooks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on Cnalwa (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Dictatorship meaning

[edit]

The word "dictatorship" is a noun, referring to "a country, government, or the form of government in which absolute power is exercised by a dictator, absolute, imperious, or overbearing power or control, [or] the office or position held by a dictator" (Dictionary.com). Dictatorship can be used in reference to a country, or a system of government, but it cannot be used in reference to a conflict, since the term makes absolutely no sense in that context. In other words, the Yugoslav Wars or Rwandan Genocide cannot be dictatorships, since a conflict between two groups of people cannot, by definition, be a dictatorship. As a result, categorizing them as totalitarian dictatorships makes no sense. Articles are only added into a category if they can be verifiably shown to be an example of the category's topic, not if they have some slight involvement with it. Also, it's generally preferable to discuss major unilateral categorizations before you do them, especially if they're contentious and unsourced. Rwenonah (talk) 19:24, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your edits to Iran, can I also suggest that you read WP:BRD? Once you've had a bold edit reverted by another editor, you need to take the issue to the talk page, rather than just repeatedly making the same bold edit. Cordless Larry (talk) 20:06, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what your background is ethnically, nor do I care, but your edits and edit summaries show you are a biased, prejudiced and unreliable editor. Quis separabit? 20:07, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Steal a car and go to Las Vegas listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Steal a car and go to Las Vegas. Since you had some involvement with the Steal a car and go to Las Vegas redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Liz Read! Dicators and dictatorships

[edit]

Hello Icarus the Great. Would you please stop mass-tagging articles about countries and political leaders as "dictatorships" and "dictators", respectively? You appear to be new here, so you may not realize that these characterizations have been repeatedly discussed here over the years, and always found to violate our policies and guidelines prohibiting original research, biased points of view, and/or undue weight.

Quite apart from this, some of your tags seem so inappropriate that it suggests you aren't actually familiar with the subject. For example, tagging Leonid Brezhnev as a dictator flies in the face of a considerable body of reliable political and scholarly opinion, even from from staunchly anti-Soviet sources with firsthand knowledge of the man and of the Soviet government. (See for example the top-secret dossier, since declassified, which Henry Kissinger prepared on Brezhnev for the use of Gerald Ford. Kissinger repeatedly stresses that Brezhnev does not have absolute power but is actually obliged to act in accordance with the decisions of a wider collective leadership.)

In short, your mass-tagging seems ill-advised, bordering on disruptive. Please stop tagging further articles, and don't edit war to replace these tags when other editors remove them. —Psychonaut (talk) 09:47, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
