Stop deleting already-accepted image

JJMC89, please either refine your bot or otherwise stop having it remove already-accepted images, e.g., File:James and John McNamara.png, on new James B. McNamara page, picked up from Los Angeles Times bombing#Strike against American Bridge Co.-Aboudaqn (talk) 16:39, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

No. You are required to comply with the non-free content policy. Further violating policy (#9) by displaying the image on my talk page (now removed) isn't helping. Saying that an image is already accepted makes it clear that you don't understand the non-free content policy. You should educate yourself before making requests of others to allow you to continue violating policy. — JJMC89 16:55, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

Regarding Mohun Bagan AC

Can you please explain why you removed the Mohun Bagan Super Giant logo? Mohunbagani (talk) 10:58, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

Dear JJMC89,

Thank you for your interest in this Enrico Fermi report. You requested size reduction, however this reduction of the report image made it illegible. The image supports and illustrates the article Trinity_(nuclear_test)#Energy_measurements where this unclassified eyewitness report by famous physicist Enrico Fermi already was quoted long before

About 40 seconds after the explosion the air blast reached me....would be produced by ten thousand tons of T.N.T.

Readers can verify the whole report by themselves if the original image is retained. Reduction also is not needed for copyright protection. So

  • Could you please restore this image to legible size? Then it makes more sense as proof and illustration.

(I also posted to DatBot, but i assume you are the source for the reduction action.)

Thank you, the uploader of this report image, Hansmuller (talk) 07:26, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

WP:IMAGERES describes the necessary actions that you should have taken. [...] add the {{non-free no reduce}} template [...], though this still requires you to include a valid rationale that explains this reasoning [....] The file has been deleted, so this is moot. — JJMC89 02:21, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Bot issue

Hi JJMC89, your bot is continuously tagging File:Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff (quadtych).jpg with Template:Orphaned non-free revisions, but there's none. The file history is just the original file and its reverted reductions, an issue already discussed at User talk:DatGuy/Archives/2023/August#Issue with a DatBot's reduction and later with user Iruka13. If you're adding that tag unintentionally, please stop the bot from doing that, otherwise please take part in the dispute and expose your point of view. Thank you, Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 04:16, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

The tagging was correct since any non-current revision of a non-free file is orphaned and subject to deletion per WP:F5/WP:NFCC#7 since they cannot be used in an article. — JJMC89 02:21, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Logo question

Hello,

Can you explain to me why this logo can be used on multiple articles and this one can't?

Thank you. Green13gr (talk) 06:43, 24 August 2023 (UTC)

See WP:NFC#UUI #17, which applies to both. — JJMC89 00:54, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
