Category:Bilateral relations of the Federal Republic of Central America

Hi, JJMC89, your bot account moved the category I created, Bilateral relations of the Federal Republic of Central America, from Bilateral relations of Federal Republic of Central America. However, it was not moved on Category:Federal Republic of Central America–United States relations. The old category name shows up as opposed to the current name that I manually added. Could the bot move the category on this page as it did on the main article? --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 19:20, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

It looks like Fayenatic london took care of it. — JJMC89 03:34, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

Removal of two files in List of synagogues in Croatia

Your Bot just removed two pictures I included in the List of synagogues in Croatia (entry for Karlovac and Slavonski Brod). Why is it okay to have the pictures in the articles (Karlovac Synagogue and Slavonski Brod Synagogue) but not in this list? And: there were links to other pictures outside Wikipedia for these two synagogues; I replaced them. Now there is nothing. If it is necessary to delete the pictures, it would be better to include the former links again; now the list is not as good as before.--Wanfried-Dublin (talk) 11:41, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Meg Duncan book cover deleted

I uploaded a photo entitled Image:Meg Duncan book cover.jpeg and added it to the Meg Duncan article. It was removed because it had no Non-free use rationale. After looking at the summary I added to the photo used in the Power Boys article I have added what I hope is a proper rationale to the Meg Duncan book cover image. Would I now be able to use the Meg Duncan cover image? If not, what can I do to make the image useable? Karenthewriter (talk) 15:56, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

Luca Maggiora

Hi, JJMC89, I was trying to create a page for the subject Luca Maggiora only to discover that a page has been created before for the subject but it was deleted by you (HTTPS://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Luca_Maggiora). I found some sources online that shows the subject is notable but I will like to get a draft of the previous page that was deleted to see if those sources were included. --Playthatup (talk)(11:46, 3 February 2022 (UTC))

Left behind

Hi JJMC89, any idea why your CFD bot left one user page (User:TheKaphox) behind in Category:Wikipedians who are fans of Eurovision? (other contribs) – Fayenatic London 11:26, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

I'm leaving the page in the old category, and the category listed at WP:CFDW, for you to trace the bug when you have time. – Fayenatic London 09:08, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
@Fayenatic london: That page has {{nobots}}, so the bot skips it. — JJMC89 17:59, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
Aha! Thanks very much. I'll look for that if similar cases crop up in future. – Fayenatic London 19:48, 6 February 2022 (UTC)

Vasil Mzhavanadze

Why do you delete Vasil Mzhavanadze's photo on my training page, Do you think this is normal? Do not delete!--Lasha-george (talk) 05:47, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

@Lasha-george: unfortunately it was an WP:NFCC Violation, Which means that Non Free Images are only allowed in Articles. Chip3004 (talk) 06:02, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
Not free? This is the first time I hear such a thing, because if a picture is posted on Vasil Mzhavanadze's personal page, why it is not allowed in the unified list is completely unclear ...--Lasha-george (talk) 06:15, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
I repeat, this is my personal exercise page and I have full right to what picture I will post and please do not delete Vasil Mzhavanadze's picture.--Lasha-george (talk) 13:46, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) @Lasha-george: Non-free content cannot be used (i.e. displayed) in the user namespace per non-free content use criterion #9 and WP:UP#Non-free images. In addition, your “personal exercise page” (i.e. your user sandbox) is not really yours per se as explained in WP:UP#OWN; all user pages belong to Wikipedia and we are allowed to use them as long as we do so in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. If you continue to re-add non-free content to your user sandbox, it will continue to be removed. If you weren’t aware of Wikipedia’s non-free content use policy and just added the file to your user sandbox by mistake, then that’s OK. If, however, you keep making the same mistake over and over again, then there’s a good chance that an administrator like JJMC89 may WP:BLOCK your account. You can add a link to the photo of Mzhavanadze to your user sandbox if you want like File:Vasil Mzhavanadze 1957.jpg using the colon trick, but you can’t display the file. — Marchjuly (talk) 14:12, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Luca Maggiora

Hi, JJMC89, I was trying to create a page for the subject Luca Maggiora only to discover that a page has been created before for the subject but it was deleted by you (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Luca Maggiora). I found some sources online that shows the subject is notable but I will like to get a draft of the previous page that was deleted to see if those sources were included. --Playthatup (talk) 15:05, 11 February 2022

Given your WP:GAMING, I will not be undeleting it for you. — JJMC89 06:19, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
I read that and I can't tell how I fall into that category, so does that mean I should not edit articles anymore Playthatup (talk) 17:03, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Issue with JJMC89 bot

In this diff JJMC89 bot removes a user from Wikipedia:Administrators' newsletter/Subscribe. They are not excluded from mass messages and from my understanding the bot is set to not remove any users automatically from the list regardless. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 00:12, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Actually I can see why removal might be useful as the user is subscribed to both their talk and news subpage talk. However, seeing as removal is disabled in the settings doing this via bot may be still a bug. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 00:18, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
It's a 'feature' of how the bot is coded, not an intentional removal. The code assumes that there is a 1:1 mapping between a user and the page subscribed to the list. — JJMC89 03:33, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Deletion of Kuraudo

Hello JJMC89, you closed the RFD discussion resulting in deletion of the redirect Kuraudo back in 2019. Kuraudo is the Hepburn romanisation of the Japanese name of Cloud Strife, a character in a game that was developed and published by Japanese companies. The first line of Cloud Strife contains both the katakana クラウド・ストライフ and the Hepburn romanisation Kuraudo Sutoraifu in a parenthetical, indicating that the Japanese version of the name is "orignal or official". According to Wikipedia:Redirects in languages other than English, this would fall under Original or official names of people, places, institutions, publications or products, and is not, as described by Wikipedia:Redirect#Reasons for deleting§8, a page whose subject is unrelated to that language. Please consider undeleting this page. 93 (talk) 09:13, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

As is noted in the RFD, Kuraudo is only the romanization for Cloud, not Cloud Strife. Therefore, it is not an official name. — JJMC89 03:37, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Bot removing public domain image

Hi, I don't understand this bot edit. According to the file description pages it's public domain in the US. Why would it need a non-free use rationale? --mfb (talk) 17:16, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

That is a series of three edits. My bot removed File:Inspiration4.png, not File:Inspiration4 Launch (210915-X-YM354-1013).jpg. — JJMC89 03:31, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
Oh sorry, didn't see the other edits. --mfb (talk) 02:45, 20 February 2022 (UTC)

Block log

Hey, I noticed you blocked a lot of vandalistic IPs some hours ago at a very rapid pace along with some other admins. I mean, it's anti-vandalism so I'm not too worried, but why is this? wizzito | say hello! 06:14, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

File:Salans logo.jpg

Hi JJMC89. JJMC89 bot flagged File:Salans logo.jpg as a 10c violation but cleaned up the file's rationale to take care of that. I am, however, wondering whether this really needs to be non-free per c:COM:TOO United States, c:COM:TOO Canada or c:COM:TOO France. Perhaps it's simple enough to be {{PD-ineligible-USonly}} for local use on Wikipedia even if it's not PD-logo for Commons' purposes? -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:11, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: I'm not familiar enough with France's TOO, but I'd say it is at least below US TOO. — JJMC89 02:44, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for taking a look. It does seem to be at least OK to be converted to {{PD-ineligible-USonly}}. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:17, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
