Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Ryan Beat
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Ryan Beat, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- Asartea Talk | Contribs 09:04, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.Deb (talk) 12:50, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. Normally a new user would begin by practising using Wikipedia by making small edits and thus develop the skills necessary to create an article that won't get deleted. I would recommend you do that. There is plenty of help available at Wikipedia:Teahouse if you hit any snags. I don't restore promotional content, but there are other administrators who may be willing to do so. Make sure you check out Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view first. Deb (talk) 13:29, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
So, can you please clarify for me why my article was deleted? Was it because there was mention of sponsors? Are you allowed to mention corporate names when they are a part of a series? For example: Lucas Oil Off Road Racing ([[1]].
- For a start, you should not put any external links into the text. You can't use other Wikipedia articles as a reference. Nearly all your sources are actually the same one: "LOORRS Event Results". Several of your paragraphs are unreferenced. Many of your statements sound like personal opinion and are written in non-neutral language, e.g. "At just 28 years old, Beat started his own LOORRS team in 2015 ..." A lot of it is written in a kind of "journalese". Read Wikipedia:Writing better articles if you want to get the tone right. Deb (talk) 13:46, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
