Palestinians

Why did you remove the ethnic group label from the Palestinian people article? It was not WP:IDONTLIKEIT to re-add it as I did, please note the talk section of the page, removing this label from the Palestinian people article seems to fall under WP:IDONTLIKEIT instead. Lazyfoxx (talk) 17:58, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

We don't usually describe a people as as "ethnic group", certainly not if they are similar to their neighbours. Is the difference between a Palestinian, a Lebanese, a Syrian and a Jordanian really an "ethnic" difference? I've never seen a source make that claim. Jeppiz (talk) 19:04, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure who you are referring to by we. Have you heard of the Irish people, Scottish people, and Welsh people? They all are neighboring Celtic peoples, with very similar languages and culture, they all speak English now primarily, just as the Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians all speak Arabic. Will you go onto the formers pages and take out the ethnic group labels? Regarding an explicit source that states Palestinian as an ethnicity, http://www.socresonline.org.uk/10/3/khattab.html Lazyfoxx (talk) 19:20, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
The thing is many Palestinians self-identity as Arab. Also your source lists “five ethnic groups: European Jews (Ashkenazi), Asian-African Jews (Sephardi), Muslim Palestinians, Christian Palestinians and Druze Palestinians.” Separating out any of these five into separate distinct ethnic groups is controversially. Then our source jumps and starts using the nomenclature Palestinian-Arab. What you are suggesting is original research.Jonney2000 (talk) 02:03, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Arab is a pan-ethnicity that includes different ethnic groups, the criteria for being an "Arab" could be as simple as speaking Arabic or having Arab influence in one's culture. An Irish American may identify as an American, that doesn't mean they are not ethnically Irish. The source I have provided sub-categorizes the Palestinian ethnic group into Christian, Muslim, and Druze because differences in religion are worth noting in the study. Lazyfoxx (talk) 00:44, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
More relevant sources: 1, 2, 3, Denial of the Palestinian Ethnic Group, if you Jonney2000 or Jeppiz are still unsure, read over the Palestinians & Talk:Palestinians pages, there are countless sources & discussions that support the ethnic group label. Lazyfoxx (talk) 01:44, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Mark D. Roberts

Regarding this edit, what makes you say Roberts is "not a scholar"? PhD in NT from Harvard, and teaching at Fuller and SFTS sound pretty good to me! StAnselm (talk) 10:02, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

My bad, thanks for correcting this. It's a common name and I stupidly ended up at the wrong Mark Roberts. Still, the publication does not seem to meet WP:RS, I'll get back to it this evening. Thanks for correcting me! Jeppiz (talk) 12:03, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

FYI

Thought you should be aware of the latest "accusation". [1] --Ebyabe talk - Union of Opposites17:41, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Spam and trolling

I guess he hardly tries to evade block. He change the section title "Alexis Ivanov's POV-pushing and battleground behavior" into "Alexis Ivanov's NPOV-pushing and good behavior".[2] Also a lot of a spams in his user namespace and talk pages to confuse other editors. He's not a new user. --153.207.109.188 (talk) 13:52, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I'll check the report you really made now. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 21:44, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

No worried JamesBWatson, and I made a mistake myself, posted the wrong diff in my report, this is the second deletion of my comment [3]. Jeppiz (talk) 21:49, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Relating to your report about Ciphers00, I have now topic banned the editor from all articles relating to religion for a month. My own experience suggests that it is commonly a mistake to limit a topic ban to only articles on a topic, rather than all edits relating to the topic (including talk page edits etc), but a ban only on articles was what was proposed at ANI and what gained consensus, so that is it. I have also warned the editor that any disruptive editing, either before or after the ban expires, may lead to a block. Thanks for telling me, The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson", very much appreciate it! Jeppiz (talk) 15:03, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

BRD

Hi, your mention of BRD earlier today appeared to be in an effort to prevent edit warring and to encourage conversation, both of which have occurred.

Please shrug off the negative criticism as it was entirely unwarranted, and frankly, seemed a little petty to me.

Apologies for contacting you on a break. Best regards Zarcusian (talk) 18:11, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
