License tagging for File:Sam Lay in Chicago.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Sam Lay in Chicago.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. I have been booking Sam Lay for the Chicago Blues fest for the last couple years. Sam told me he paid for this promo picture of himself on drums and that it was ok to use it. If this is not good enough then please remove the picture but not the entire article. Thanks, Jim Wydra

That may need the same license through WP:OTRS as I mentioned in the section below. The copyright holder may legally insist on 'attribution' but must allow derivatives and commercial uses. It appears that the article

Hi this article was written by Linda Hastings Baker (Little Rock, AK)for her MA Thesis. I talked to her on the phone and she knew I was putting her info on Wikipedia. She just wanted me to make sure I gave her credit for the entire thing. Now sure how to do that and neither does Linda.

Just have her read WP:OTRS and submit a 'free license' to use her text on wikipedia. I think the only credit she can recieve will be as the author of a source.--Canoe1967 (talk) 23:26, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
