Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Also, RC-135 and EC-135 text should be added to those articles (Boeing RC-135, Boeing EC-135), not the KC-135 article. Thank you. -Fnlayson (talk) 19:30, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

C/KC/EC/RC-135 accident information

[edit]
Move here from User talk:Fnlayson

There currently is no information on Wikipedia about any aircraft accidents involving -135 series aircraft, except on the KC-135 page. I spent 20 years in the military flying the -135 series and a good part of that time in flight safety and investigations. We in the military -135 community routinely received reports on other -135 series aircraft, since we were flying similar types. Aviation Safety Network, operated by the Flight Safety Foundation, lumps all -135 series accidents into a single tabulation, although they do note the differing types (C/EC/RC etc). In my edit, I was careful to highlight with boldprint and italics the aircraft types for the three mishaps I added to the database which were not KC-135s. In addition, the KC-135 article also includes comments on the EC-135 (see bottom of page). Since there is no provision currently in either the EC-135 or RC-135 Wikipedia articles for listing accidents, there was no other place to put this information. If someone with sufficient authority could add such a category to those articles, it could more easily be populated with the appropriate data. As it is currently, there is no place to put data on EC- or RC-135 accidents and it raised the question as to why that information is not available. If you can add that major subheading to those articles, please advise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kc135ejim (talkcontribs) 15:26, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You can start new sections in the appropriate -135 article if you want. It's not a big deal. These articles were split off to cover the different versions and should be put to use like this. Also, bold formatting should not be used in text, except for a few cases (see WP:Boldface). If you need help, try asking at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft. Thanks. -Fnlayson (talk) 15:07, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Transit Center at Manas may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thank you for your recent contribution to Carl Andrew Spaatz. I know you've been around awhile, but I'd like to remind you that your contributions are important, and that the edits you made to the above page were certainly not "minor" as you indicated. :) Per WP:MINOR, "A check to the minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous versions. Examples include typographical corrections, formatting and presentational changes, and rearrangements of text without modification of its content."
