GLAM

[edit]

Hi there, I noticed you are an archivist. Please take a look at the GLAM project if you haven't already. Sometimes librarians and archivists get into trouble adding links to their resource collections like you have been doing (and end up getting blocked for spamming!). I can't find a link to a specific page about this right now, but feel free to ask a GLAM person for help. Cheers, Valfontis (talk) 18:20, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a link to an old essay: User:Beetstra/Archivists. Here is a Wikimedia page about adding links: Linking for GLAMs. And here is a higher-level discussion: Wikipedia:Advice for the cultural sector. Valfontis (talk) 18:32, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

[edit]

Thank you for the resources and advice! I have recently been in contact with librarians and archivists at other institutions that are part of the GLAM project and am trying to stay as informed as possible about Wikipedia policies and issues of conflict of interest, so the articles about linking were especially helpful. Thanks again! Kflynn2015 (talk) 18:44, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Solarra. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Khirbet Qana, with this edit without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the page's content. Hi Solarra- Thanks! It was indeed a mistake- I definitely did not mean to remove all the content from the article. Thank you for restoring it. Still figuring out the mechanics of Wikipedia :/ Kflynn2015 (talk) 20:28, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Edwin M. Randall Jr., you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page General Conference. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
