Christina Aguilera

[edit]

The image for the infobox has been discussed on Talk:Christina Aguilera#Image. Discuss there instead of continuing to revert with no consensus. Revert again and you will be blocked. Ward3001 (talk) 15:42, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Christina Aguilera. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Ward3001 (talk) 15:46, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry

If you are adding unacceptable images, edit warring, and vandalizing using these different usernames, it is considered sockpuppetry, a very egregious policy violation on Wikipedia. Wikipedia has the capability for determining whether you are doing this. Not only can you be blocked for sockpuppetry, you can be permanantly banned from Wikipedia. If you continue your disruptive editing, there will be a sockpuppet investigation. This is your only warning. Ward3001 (talk) 15:52, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

we're not the same person. The three usernames have identical problem edits, and have almost exclusively edited Christina Aguilera articles. That is always considered suspicious on Wikipedia, and is grounds for an investigation.
I will find a free close-up photograph of Christina Aguilera: Don't bother. The photograph currently in the infobox is perfectly acceptable and known to be free. You are finding copyrighted images and calling them free. Whether you say it's free or not, you must obtain consensus to change the image. There is already a discussion on the talk page. Change the image without consensus and you will be blocked. Ward3001 (talk) 16:01, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We're editing the same page because we know each other: A frequently-used story by sockpuppets. That does not stop an investigation or stop the blocks if sockpuppetry is verified (which is easy to do).
The picture I have uploaded is free as it is a personal shot: A lie and further grounds for a sockpuppetry investigation. You said you would "find" a close-up, which is what you have done. You "find" copyrighted images from websites and say they're free. All three usernames have repeatedly committed this serious policy violation. Your assumption that the rest of us are too stupid to figure that out is a bad one. It's easy to find the very same images that you find, and when that is done, you are then blocked for copyright violation. You apparently do not realize how seriously Wikipedia takes copyright violations. It is against the law and opens Wikipedia up to lawsuit. There are thousands of editors who do nothing but look for the same kind of copyright violations that you have commmitted. Note that two administrators, who can block you immediately, have become involved in this issue.
Where do we get consensus?: As you have been told repeatedly, you discuss on Talk:Christina Aguilera#Image, let others express their opinions, and then wait to see if the weight of opinions favors a change. And be prepared to defend how you obtained an image and provided evidence that it is free.
This is the end of my discussion here. If you have further comments make them on the appropriate talk page. And remember you have been warned, so commit a policy violation and you will be blocked without further notice. Ward3001 (talk) 16:20, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

if you continue to threaten me, I will report you: Warnings are neither threats nor policy violations. Making false reports, on the other hand, is a policy violation. Warnings are done to protect Wikipedia and prevent you from getting into deeper trouble than you already are in. Report all you want. It only makes a better case against you. End of discussion. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window.
