Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Dudhhr was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia.
– dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 00:43, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there! I do not understand why the subject is not sufficiently notable. I understand the earlier feedback about the references, and have since addressed those. I have further organized the content of the article to help illustrate the impact of the business' social practices, and its notable franchise success, each of which have been covered by many third party neutral sources. It does seem to me to meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability. Can you please review and explain what is possible? I've reviewed so many other restaurant chain pages, and they are far less cited and have much less 'notable' news. Can you please help to explain and/or re-evaluate the rejection? Thank you! LabourTO (talk) 18:41, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging @Dudhhr so they will see this. S0091 (talk) 19:10, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have retracted my rejection. Feel free to re-submit the draft, though note that some of the sources used in the draft are sponsored and unreliable. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 19:14, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for retracting the rejection, @Dudhhr! I will carefully review the sources per your feedback, and when ready, will resubmit the draft. Thanks again! LabourTO (talk) 19:15, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for doing that, @S0091! LabourTO (talk) 19:15, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@LabourTO before you resubmit, I strongly suggest giving WP:NCORP a thorough read, paying special attention to the WP:ORGCRIT section. Based on a very brief look at the current sources and given it has been reviewed several times, I did not disagree with @Dudhhr's reject and it is very kind of them to retract. S0091 (talk) 19:39, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@S0091Thank you for this advice. I have now gained a better understanding of the criteria, and believe I have now thoroughly addressed this feedback in the latest draft I just submitted. I appreciate your time and the time of whomever reviews (and hopefully accepts) this new draft. Thanks! LabourTO (talk) 20:37, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi LabourTO - thanks for your entry to List of Canadian restaurant chains, but the entry has no references. Somebody is likely to remove it unless references are added. Have a look at the listings for Panago, Osmow's, and Pizza Pizza for examples that could be modelled. It's a good chain to add to the list, but we need references. Hello LabourTO. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:LabourTO. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=LabourTO|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 20:40, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I can confirm that there is no financial stake or paid affiliation related to this article. I am a customer who enjoys visiting this restaurant with my family. And now I feel very committed to seeing through having this article published. My first ever! (Who knew it was such a feat?) I will do my best to address your feedback about it sounding too much like an advertisement, and will explore some revisions shortly. @Theroadislong@S0091 LabourTO (talk) 20:46, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You may find WP:ADVOCACY helpful. At the end of the day, an encyclopedia article just summarizes what reliable sources say about a subject using the bare-bones basic dry facts with no editorializing. S0091 (talk) 21:12, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@S0091Thank you. I have further edited the article to strike as neutral a tone as possible, presenting the facts dryly and plainly. The facts in the many articles written about the brand themselves are indeed positive-leaning, so the content of the article naturally leads to some statements that are by extension positive. However, as you may see in the latest version just submitted, they are presented factually and neutrally, without any added frill. I've tried very hard to remove any bias. I trust you will see this in the latest submission. LabourTO (talk) 21:18, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! You requested to see the three best sources that I believe establish notability. I suggest these three are the top sources: [1], [2] and [3]. I understand that the third source is a trade publication, which weakens its strength as a source. However, my understanding of this publication is that it has no vested interest in Pür & Simple in any way - simply a vested interest in the restaurant industry as a whole - a rather large sweeping industry, so it does not feel too close or impartial. I did also include a secondary source to complement this trade publication citation as well, for good measure. These sources to me show that the restaurant is being discussed at will by consumer publications about its business growth, its appealing products, and its social impact (and even within the articles talk about how one of the authors always wanted to visit -- meaning it had already established notoriety). @S0091 LabourTO (talk) 21:09, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please post this on the draft's talk page for the benefit of the next reviewer (you can copy it over to Draft talk:Pür & Simple). S0091 (talk) 21:16, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@S0091Okay, thank you. I've done this now. LabourTO (talk) 21:21, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I have added a comment letting the next reviewer know to look at the talk page. You can resubmit when ready. Note - I have not reviewed any of the changes, etc. so have no opinion and fresh eyes are best. Best of luck and Happy New Year! S0091 (talk) 21:28, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your feedback and assistance in navigating this process. Happy new year to you as well! @S0091 LabourTO (talk) 21:34, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Life (cereal), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:40, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
