If you know how to help make a article get featured hit me up

FAC withdrawn[edit]

I appreciate you're acting in good faith but it's best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. This way they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar with the sources to make any suggested improvements. Someone who hasn't worked on the article can't provide this input, so the FAC rumbles on until the opposes become so overwhelming that the article is failed, taking a lot of reviewers' time. The Xzibit article has not been through any other content review processes (like WP:GAN or WP:PR), is largely uncited, and is not FAC quality, so I will archive the nomination. I suggest you first work an article up through peer review and good article to prepare for WP:FAC. Good luck! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:04, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have worked on this article for several months now but it would not let me nominate it until I created my account. I will fix what you have done Sandy but thanks for helping

Tips[edit]

Hi Laughing at my money now. I'm not sure if you know, but adding four tildes (four of these ~) after you type something will add your name. This is strongly encouraged on talk pages so that people know who said what.

It looks as if you are unfamiliar with the FAC process. Before an article is nominated, it should meet all of the featured article criteria. For relatively new users who may not understand what the criteria means, we recommend that you first request a peer review and get feedback on the article. You can also look at other featured articles for examples of the quality of article that is usually featured. For example, you might look at the articles on other musicians such as John Mayer or Kate Bush to see what types of information should be included and how it should be presented. I strongly recommend that you withdraw the current FAC nomination, work on the article a bit more, get a peer review and incoporate any comments that are offered, and then bring it back to FAC when it is ready. (To withdraw a nomination, just type Withdraw on the nomination page with your signature.) Karanacs (talk) 19:31, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not an expert with featuring a article but I hope that we can fix it up so it will get promoted

The FAC process is not a place where others "fix it up." People have left serious objections (such as lack of references), and it is your responsibility as the nominator to make the changes that have been suggested. If you are unable or unwilling to do so, then the nomination should be withdrawn and you should try to go through the other review processes (like peer review) first. Karanacs (talk) 17:10, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
peer reviews are definitely the way to go. Super Smash Bros. Brawl has already gone through 2 peer reviews and 2 GA nominations, and I am still facing heavy criticism about this article on the article's FAC. I've been working quite hard to meet all the reviewer's requirements, and to do so, you must be extremely skilled in wiki-coding, and must know the format of the article from head to foot. It is an extremely difficult job, so I suggest you send Xzibit through a peer review and GA nomination before an FA attempt can even be considered. --haha169 (talk) 17:59, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I forgot to mention it - Xzibit is rated 2 start class and one B class. As you can see from this example, B-class articles very rarely can make it in to FA. Oh, and finally, I suggest you learn some wiki-codings about ref tags here. --haha169 (talk) 18:07, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
