March 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Shorewood High School (Wisconsin) has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bmyspace\.com (links: http://www.myspace.com/lorylazarus).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 21:36, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page List of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee people do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Lazoomusic. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Attack of the Elvis Impersonators, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 15:55, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. ☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 14:42, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. This is Lory Lazarus, the creator of "Attack of the Elvis Impersonators." I apologize that I don't really know the "ins and outs" of editing a Wikipedia page. I am a technology dunce. But I don't apologize for making edits to this page when I see mistakes or incorrect information written about MY musical, and I believe that I have every right to make corrections. As I have stated previously, this Wikipedia page would not even exist if I had not written "Attack of the Elvis Impersonators" to begin with, so once again I am KINDLY asking whoever is changing my edits to leave what I have fixed ALONE. Please. Either leave my changes as is... or take down this Wikipedia page in its entirety. You can personally contact me at <redacted> if you need to. Thank you very much :-) Lazoomusic (talk) 16:01, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have no right of ownership or editorial control over any article on Wikipedia, even a subject that was created by you. Wikipedia articles are owned or controlled by no one, particularly anyone involved with the subject of the article. This is an inherent conflict of interest and you should not be directly editing this article at all.
If you decide to request an unblock, you will likely be asked to refrain from editing this article and instead suggest changes using edit requests on the article's talk page. Keep in mind that we only allow content that is backed up by citations to reliable sources that are unaffiliated with the subject matter, and it must be worded in a plainly factual and neutral point of view. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:39, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

March 2023[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Orange Mike | Talk 16:08, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(I really hated to do this to a fellow UW-M alumnus, but you left us no choice. MJL - B.A. 2004)
