- To get adopted by a more experienced Wikipedian, you could add the words {{Adoptme}} to your user page. To read more about it, go here.
You should sign your name on talk pages, discussions and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date. Also, if you don't want to jump right into editing articles right now, why not check out the sandbox? Feel free to make test edits there.
I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian - I definitely do. Although we all make mistakes, please keep in mind what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or problems, leave me a message on my talk page, and I'll try my best to help. Otherwise, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.
We hope you stick around, and make sure you enjoy yourself! Cheers, lovelaughterlife♥talk? 04:48, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
A little note...
[edit]Bonjour Le Scarlet Douche, Here at Wikipedia, we honestly do respect and value your contributions. We sincerely do want your experience as a user and as an editor to be the most fulfilling experiences. However, when you are making edits such as the ones that you made to Adolf Hitler, it does not make our job of creating an insightful and comprehensive encyclopedia easier. Therefore, we do not have enough time to appreciate the good edits that you make on Wikipedia. Please, do not get offended by this note; instead, use it as a motivation for making creative, wonderful and insightful edits to Wikipedia – which we know you are capable of. A guideline on Wikipedia is assume good faith, which means that, in most cases, we will try to look on the more positive side of actions. The warnings that you have accumulated in the past can be forgotten, and you CAN be a respected and esteemed editor in no time. I see that you didn’t get a proper welcome previously; well, I’ve given you a proper welcome now! I hope that everything works out for you ! Drop me a note on my talk page if you need anything. --lovelaughterlife♥talk? 04:50, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm truly sorry for reverting that fact, but when you were putting it into the article, you did not link it to the source. I will link it and add it back into the article. Upon first glance, it did not look like veritable information. There I was, quoting "Assume good faith" when I wasn't even practising it! Sorry about that. :) --lovelaughterlife♥talk? 05:22, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- My dear, you cannot offend Le Douche. A minor oversight has caused a simple unfortunate error. C'est la vie.
Adoption?
[edit]I don't know what kind of help you need, but if you feel you need someone to help you around here, give me a call on my talk page.--Saoshyant talk / contribs (I don't like Wikipedophiles) 15:12, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:LeDouche.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:LeDouche.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Solved your issue. Here are a list of all the copyright image tags on Wikipedia. Just copy and paste one into the comments section of your page to avoid possible deletion. --lovelaughterlife♥talk? 00:19, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 17:09, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:JesseVentura.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:JesseVentura.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:RickFreuler.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:RickFreuler.JPG. The copy called Image:RickFreuler.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 04:47, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Edits to Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man
[edit]Hi, I see you've reverted my changes to the above cited article. The reason I've been deleting this information is because it is an unsupported supposition, not a fact. While I can see how one can draw the conclusion that there is a connection between the G&S song and the character's name, one could just as easily say that the name comes from the common first question used in the game "20 Questions" (i.e., "Is it animal, vegetable, or mineral?"). If you can provide a citation to back up this particular trivia item, please provide it. In the mean time, I'm going to remove the trivia item again.
Please understand that I'm not trying to be vindictive. I'm just following the guidelines of the Comics WikiProject task force, which states "All wikipedia articles should cite reliable sources to maintain the verifiability chain and avoid original research." Thanks! Konczewski 13:07, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions, including your edits to Karen Holbrook. As a member of the Wikipedia community, please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not be libelous. Any controversial statements about a living person added to an article must include proper sources. Thank you. Feel free to cite a reliable source or discuss on the article talk page. ~Eliz81(C) 05:31, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Blackscale.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Blackscale.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:08, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
May 2010
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your recent edits to Talk:Gabourey Sidibe have been reverted as they could be seen to be defamatory or potentially libellous. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. TbhotchTalk C. 00:28, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Gabourey Sidibe are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. TbhotchTalk C. 17:12, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Toothbrush mustache
[edit]Hello, thanks for your message. I guess having contributed to that page the image of the cover of Hitler's Mein Kampf, I find a detail about his effect on the fashion of wearing a particular mustache a bit trivial. But that's just me. If you disagree, which you are welcome to do, you are more than welcome to raise the issue on the article's talk page. MarmadukePercy (talk) 00:44, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I see that while I was writing this, you did raise the issue on the talk page. That's the way wikipedia works, and now you can let other editors comment and decide what they think is best. MarmadukePercy (talk) 00:46, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- You seem to have misunderstood my comment to you. The events went as follows: you added the mustache information; I reverted; then you readded it; then another editor reverted you. You have now taken it to the talk page, where other editors can now have a debate about its inclusion. That's how the process works. Other editors will now debate its inclusion and come to a consensus. During that time, you are welcome to contribute to the discussion. This is not a unilateral process. The debate has begun. Good luck. MarmadukePercy (talk) 00:57, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- "Wikipedia elites"? I see you misunderstand the way this place works. There aren't any elites. I rendered one opinion, by reverting you. I don't intend to engage any more in the discussion, as I think it's better for other editors to weigh in with their opinions. If they disagree with you, will you also dismiss them as 'wikipedia elites"? You're missing the real point: one should assume good faith on the part of everyone working here, unless they prove otherwise. MarmadukePercy (talk) 01:10, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- Again, you seem to have misinterpreted my statement. If you think uploading a picture takes any brains, then you need to reassess your opinion of technology. I was simply stating this: given that the man in question (Adolf Hitler) annihilated a good portion of the world's citizens, I found dissection of his personal fashion statement a bit trivial. But as I indicated to you at the outset, that's simply my opinion. I reverted you once. I'm done. Take it up with other editors on the talk page. Best wishes in all your future endeavors.MarmadukePercy (talk) 02:37, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
