The article Car body stripes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article title "Car body stripes" is an obscure, awkward phrase, not even worth redirecting to Racing stripe because it would then be an implausible misnomer.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. André Morel

[edit]

A new article about him which makes his notability properly apparent can be created at any time. The article I deleted six months ago, however, consisted only of the sentence "André Morel was a race car driver on Amilcar", with no references, no explanation of notability no additional information. There was no reason to keep that as written, and there's no need to restore it now — you can start a new article with real references in it anytime you wish. Philip Schram

[edit]

The subjects of Wikipedia articles need to meet the notability guidelines, and in this case I was unable to find much in the way of references. However the title is a possible search term so I turned the article into a redirect. If you are Philip Schram then I should advise you that writing about yourself is frowned upon. Thank you. I am not writing about myself. The page was created and managed by Rama Nagaraju. If posible, I would like to have the page as stand alone. AS you can see, Philip Schram is a published author about the car make Le Zebre. He did also a lot of pubishing on race pilote Andre Morel (summury published on French Wikipedia). Buffalo Wings & Rings in only one of his activities. It seems that the notability guidelines are met.

Lezebre (talk) 11:10, 28 July 2011 (UTC)Lezebre[reply]

The primary criterion for establishing notability is whether the subject has significant coverage in reliable sources. Whilst there are some sources that discuss Schram they all do so whilst writing about Buffalo Wings & Rings. In cases like this usual practice is to redirect/merge the content. And by the way no one individual "manages" Wikipedia articles. Hut 8.5 19:53, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - Have you seen the Le Zebre and Andre Morel (pilote) pages on wikipedia - France? I am the official historian for these two topics. If you search on google, such as "le zebre car", "andre morel pilote" and similar searches with french words, my site www.lezebre.eu comes first. I have also printed a paper book on Le Zebre. So limiting to Buffalo Wings & Rings what I have done shadows the other activities. Sorry for the confusion on the "manages wikipedia". I was merely commenting that I am not the one writting about myself. Lezebre (talk) 14:15, 1 August 2011 (UTC) lezebre[reply]

The fact that he's written about this car doesn't mean he passes the notability guidelines. As I said before to demonstrate notability you need to point to significant coverage in third-party reliable sources. There isn't much coverage of this type and all of it is mentions in the context of his foundation of Buffalo Wings & Rings. I'm not saying that's the only thing he ever did, just that it's his only claim to notability. Hut 8.5 15:15, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Paquis

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Paquis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. A tag has been placed on Paquis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Userspace drafts

[edit]

Wikipedia gets a flood of new articles, something like one a minute, and many consist only of a sentence or two and are never improved. Therefore criteria for speedy deletion have been agreed which include WP:CSD#A1 "very short article providing little or no context to the reader" and WP:CSD#A7 "no credible indication of importance or significance". The way to avoid premature deletion while taking your time about developing an article is to start by making a draft in your user space. This option is presented on the new article creation page, but you can get to it directly from Help:Userspace draft. Then you can move the article to the main encyclopedia when it is ready. If you have not already, it is worth reading WP:Your first article, particularly the sections on referencing and notability. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 15:32, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
