Adele

[edit]

Hi. Since you are changing the genres in Adele's infobox, why and how did you come to the conclusion that Adele is primarily an R&B singer, and to a lesser extent pop and soul? Pop and soul were always listed first. Please explain. Contemporary R&B: The genre features a distinctive record production style and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Electronic influences and the use of hip hop or dance-inspired beats are typical, although the roughness and grit inherent in hip hop may be reduced and smoothed out. The best part is (2010s): The use of effects such as Auto-Tune and new computerized synths have given R&B a more futuristic feel. Oroborvs (talk) 21:37, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oroborvs source calls her R&B and in the years gone by, R&B was always first. Liscious2k24 (talk) 12:25, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When and where? Reliable sources indicate contemporary R&B elements in her music, but Adele, a fully contemporary R&B singer, is a fringe theory. It does not correspond to the mainstream media's views, which generally classify Adele as a pop and soul singer. I mean, a large amount, among the most reliable sources for Wikipedia. The contemporary touch: The New Yorker (2021), "Adele's contemporary take on soul, blues, and gospel has been appreciated as a monument to tradition". "Like Winehouse, and like many other British women in her wake, Adele was primarily interested in the traditions of Black American music, including blues, Motown, roots, and gospel. But she also had a knack for modern pop balladry, and the vocal talent to execute it.[1] AllMusic: "Weaving classic soul, confessional songwriting, and pop polish".[2] Oroborvs (talk) 17:41, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
