Block

[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because the chosen username is a clear violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that you do not intend to contribute positively to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. Unblocking pending outcome of discussion at WP:RFCN. -- Diannaa (talk) 02:46, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that your username seems fine. I'll unblock you unless the blocking admin objects. Jackmcbarn (talk) 20:53, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
LoLROFLWTFOMFG stands for "laugh our loud rolling on the floor laughing what the fuck oh my fucking god", which many people might find objectionable. --Diannaa (talk) 22:55, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Diannaa: Do you think this should be addressed at WP:RFCN? I don't think the acronyms themselves are offensive enough on their own. Jackmcbarn (talk) 23:54, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, hopefully we can get wider input. -- Diannaa (talk) 23:57, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Diannaa: Okay, I'll do that. Is it okay if I unblock pending the outcome? Jackmcbarn (talk) 02:42, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have gone ahead with the unblock. If you could get the discussion underway at WP:RFCN, that would be perfect. Thanks, -- Diannaa (talk) 02:46, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello. As a particpant at the discussion of your username it has come to my attention that you seemed to have ceased editing. I'm just curious as to whether you may have decided to abandon this username in favor of a new one as is your right (in which case I realize you may never even see this), if you are awaiting the outcome of the discussion, or if there is some other reason you have stopped editing. If you'v edecided not to use this name there is no point in others continuing to discuss it, and also I am just generally curious about the "chilling effect" that these username issues sometimes have. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:44, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I noticed that you made edit where you expressed the view that "My username contains 0 profanity whatsoever. There is NOTHING inappropriate about it, and it is not offending to ANYONE". To me I think that editors are uncomfortable with the name. I think that many would not be comfortable dealing with an editor with the name "... OhMyFuckingGod" and may similarly be uncomfortable dealing with an editor with the name "...OMFG". What other names, if any, could you consider. We value anyone here that can contribute to the development of quality encyclopedic content and, if it is just choice of user name that might cause a problem, it would be great if there is an alternative way forward. National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon In a recent edit to the page Jack Vickers, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 03:47, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
